I'm reading the Fifth Season Right Now! And I've been friends with SA Cosby on FB since he first sold his book and enjoyed watching his climb! Wonderful. Used to be in a women's writer group online with Tayari Jones and she was so inspirational. Just picked up The Hate U Give at a free bin. Haven't read James McBride but didn't he write the Color of Water? Or Am I thinking of something else? One of my colleagues used to teach that book and loved it so much.
Highly recommend The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I read this in honor of Black History Month last year!
Interesting.
