Could AI help us write comedy? 🎤 Our research scientists ran workshops with twenty professional comedians who have experimented with AI to create jokes and produce performances. They found that large language models were effective at tasks like structuring monologues and producing a first draft of material. But when it came to original content that was stimulating, or funny, this became more of a challenge. Here are the results ↓ https://dpmd.ai/3KLsRVN

Intresting... humor is definitely nuanced and based on culture and upbringing and other very human factors... also context matters a lot. Probably biased based on the input as well. So I was driving my rental and it had the female voiced intelligent personal assistant. I said I'm bored and the response I got was "I've read that sports is a great way to overcome boredom. Would you want me to switch to sport mode?" Now that is a smart and funny response within that context. So I guess witty one liners is a good way to start.
With AI, the sky is not the limit!
Great post, because it gives a different perspective about the limitations of using gen AI. The two jokes at the end were funny though...
