This past weekend was truly special as the Great Day Improvements team came together to make a difference! Team members in the Cleveland area from all our brands gathered at the Cleveland Foodbank, dedicating their time and effort to give back to our community. It’s moments like these that remind us what it means to be a community of people and a family of brands. #MakeitGreat #MakeitaGreatDay

A memorable moment I'll treasure was witnessing the #ProsperAccelerators forge connections at The Middleby Corporation #InnovationKitchen. The #foodservice industry often emphasizes the power of good food in uniting people, and it was abundantly clear that David Jobe, CEO of Prosper Forum, Donna Richardson, CEO of Mama LaVerne Foods Inc, and I, thoroughly enjoyed our time together to work towards #ABetterTable.

FckOatly.com - A new way to embrace your critics In his article, “Hug Your Haters Still Works,” Jay Baer describes Oatly’s (a Swedish oat milk company) method for handling its most vocal critics or “haters.” Addressing criticism and managing customer negativity is an important facet of CX strategy. As Baer says, “When you disappear....or deflect....or deny, you forfeit your ability to engage with the complainant and help shape the narrative… I recommend you answer every complaint...in every channel...every time." Oatly has a separate site exclusively for their critics (their fans are welcome, too) with a catchy name to boot: FckOatly.com. The company gives transparency a new meaning by heading their haters off at the pass by posting their own bad press, controversies, and general complaints. The site provides its haters an outlet to express their displeasure all in one place. Not only is everything easily accessible, but it’s delivered with quick wit and humor. It’s almost hard to believe it isn’t satire. It’s not. Baer suggests to “embrace them head on” when it comes to your biggest haters. If you can’t beat ‘em, why not join ‘em? https://lnkd.in/eicKhhhV #CX #CustomerSatisfaction #CXStrategy

There's often a misconception that focusing on social good is at odds with business success. MOD Pizza is a great example of how they work hand in hand. Over the past 15 years, MOD has grown from one location to over 540 stores across the US and Canada. After much “market research” I can personally attest that their 🍕 pizza🍕 is amazing! But great food is just part of the story. The secret sauce is in their purpose and their people. MOD removed traditional barriers to employment and created a culture where anyone – people experiencing homelessness, individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, people who were formerly incarcerated – truly anyone can be part of the team and be successful. I recently sat down with MOD's Dayna Eberhardt to learn how their unique culture is good for their business and communities. MOD’s approach to their people has led to ⬆️ faster rates of promotion, ⬆️ higher retention rates, and a ⬆️ strong sense of belonging. Dayna summed it up perfectly: “When we take care of our people, our people take care of our customers, and the business takes care of itself.” 👏 This is the first conversation as part of my Sustainability Challenge miniseries. Also, check out Aaron Green's blog to learn more about how a people-first approach is good for business. https://lnkd.in/ge2SRvaE #zeroinequality #sustainability #SAP #peoplesustainability #MODpizza

🚀 Today, I want to take a moment to reflect on our journey with Clean Label Gourmet Foods. When we initially launched this venture, we knew we were entering a highly competitive market, facing challenges from bigger competitors backed by enormous amounts of PE money. These giants cared little about profits, losses, margins, or quality. Their sole focus was top-line growth and controlling shelf space. 🦈 Many people, from family members to advisors, questioned why I wanted to dive into these shark-infested waters with just our family's funds, especially at the age of 60+. But I remember what I said back then, and I still believe it today: "It's not about how hard we get hit or the number of blows we take. It's about how strong we stand, how we counter-punch with precision, and how we turn these massive blows into victories for Clean Label." 💪 Our perseverance is paying off. We're thrilled to see our first financial returns and witness Clean Label gaining momentum, with a better than expected positive margins and increasing velocity. This success is a testament to our unwavering determination and the vision we've pursued. It is living proof that dreamers like us can stand tall amidst the most punishing beatings and fight for their dreams. 💯 To all the dreamers out there, I encourage you to stand tall and take the blows. But don't just endure; counter-punch with everything you have. Focus on delivering the best product, establishing a robust supply chain, implementing effective processes, collaborating with the best co-manufacturers, and catering to the masses, not just the classes. 🌍 Remember, there are no shortcuts. If there were any secrets to success, I would have discovered them by now. So embrace the challenge, be resilient, and seize every opportunity that comes your way. Together, we can achieve greatness. 👏 Greatness Laura Guarisco ,Anwer Haider, Brian Froman, Stephen Felsenthal, Suzanne Fody, #CleanLabelGourmetFoods #StrengthInAdversity #Perseverance #DreamBig #Resilience #QualityMatters
