At The Navigator Company, future leaders already have a voice today. The Future Leaders Forum (FLF) is one of the differentiating initiatives that make the Company attractive to those starting their professional careers. The program brings together young professionals under the age of 33, with more than a year in Navigator, and asks them to work together to find solutions to challenges the Company faces. Valuing young talent and stimulating opportunities for professional growth, where there is close interaction with top management, are the objectives of the program, which has just completed another cycle. In the latest edition of the FLF, a Board of eight young professionals, supported by an equal number of mentors, worked for six months, with the Executive Committee, to find strategies to increase the availability of wood in the domestic market. This involvement resulted in a set of initiatives that are already being implemented. In each cycle of the FLF, a diverse board of eight members is elected through a pitch process that attracts young executives from various backgrounds. Under the motto "The voices and ideas that shape the future", the Future Leaders Forum paves the way for a more participatory management approach based on the interaction between generations. Through their answers and solutions, the young members of the Board effectively participate in defining and developing the Company’s strategic agenda. Yesterday's panel at the International Leadership Summit, "Financial Timing: Avoiding the Barriers to Financial Inclusion," was a masterclass in collaboration and vision. It was a privilege to moderate discussions with industry trailblazers Robert James, James Sills, Kenneth Kelly, Danielle Squires, and DeVon Lang as we addressed how to dismantle barriers to financial access. During our discussion, we tackled the real-life challenges that minority families and businesses face—earning less, owning significantly less wealth, and having fewer opportunities for capital and customers than their white counterparts. The timing of financial decisions, we found, plays a crucial role in whether these communities can achieve economic inclusion. Together, we explored strategies to not only bridge this gap but also equip minority families and businesses to step confidently towards economic prosperity. Our conversation underscored the urgency of rethinking financial systems to offer equitable opportunities for growth and wealth building. Our collective expertise fostered a rich exchange on creating more inclusive financial systems and empowering communities through strategic investment and financial decisions.
