Jab We Met!
Yes, I finally got to meet Anshuman Tiwari over the weekend!
Many recognize him as a Top Voice or influencer on LinkedIn, but now, I also know him as the humble person who followed his dreams to Bangalore in 2006, planning to stay just for a year. However, he fell in love with the city and has lived there for more than 18 years. Anshuman's eyes lit up when he spoke about Bangalore, showing how much, he loved the city's energy, its friendly people, and the great weather!
We met at A2B (also known as Adyar Ananda Bhavan), a renowned South Indian fast-food chain. As we waited for his favourite Rava Masala Dosa (which also happened to be my dad's all-time favourite), I realized that our paths might have crossed briefly during my time at EY, possibly at town halls, blending in with other colleagues.
Anshuman continued to share his inspiring journey, and as I listened to him, what really stood out was his commitment to giving back. This is something Anshuman exemplifies through his podcasts, daily blogging, and mentoring, with a focus on guiding others through career transitions.
"What was the moment that triggered this shift, Anshuman?" I asked. I was curious about what sparked him to start giving back.
"Gopal, we do many things in life. At some point, you have to bring those experiences together and build something bigger. A larger purpose may be. That's when the 'brick by brick' moment happened to me. One of my mentors told me, I'm building a wall where each brick tells a story."
This idea of constructing a wall brick by brick, with each brick representing a step, achievement, or lesson, really resonated with me. It highlighted the importance of patience, persistence, and precision not just in developing a career but also in personal growth.
In a world that loves quick wins, the idea of building things brick by brick tells us that real success takes time and careful effort. Think of each decision, risk, and bump in the road as laying a brick. They all add up to make a strong foundation for both our work and who we are.
This way of doing things helps us grow and builds a real, tough personal brand that can handle change and challenges.
Building a career isn't just about the big wins or flashy moments. It's really about all the little steps we take along the way that add up to something strong and solid. It means appreciating every experience, good or bad, and seeing how it helps shape who we are and what we want to be.
This idea of doing things step by step is also a way to look at life. Every little thing we do helps build our future. We live a life that's more meaningful and focused, powered by our efforts and purpose.
So, I'm curious: how are you putting your own bricks in place on your journey?
Thank you, Anshuman Tiwari, for your time! People like you are rare to find!
