Here at Grow, we’re excited to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month and year-round. Specifically, we honor the sacrifices and progress made by queer trailblazers while also recommitting ourselves to the work ahead, especially as it relates to LGBTQ+ mental health. Today and always, we support our teammates, providers, and patients in being themselves - authentically so. Product-wise, we proudly support clients in using their preferred pronouns while also connecting them with LGBTQ-affirming providers on our marketplace among other initiatives. This month, our teammates have celebrated with virtual and in-person drag shows, committed to fundraising for the The Ali Forney Center's SERVE Dance-A-Thon, and authored multiple blog posts surrounding queer mental health. As a mental health platform committed to meeting others where they're at, Pride has reminded us to celebrate who we are, unapologetically. I’m extremely proud to be a part of an organization that cares about our community and accepts us as we embrace our identities everyday. Here’s to more progress, celebration, and being ourselves. - Ben Schuster, Pride@Grow ERG Lead

As we come together to honor LGBTQ+ communities, we must also focus on the importance of mental health and self-care. Pride in 2024 is defined by our collective commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. It’s about embracing our differences and championing love in all its forms. Cultural Awareness in the Workplace: 1. Educate Yourself and Others: Take the initiative to learn about the histories and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. Share resources and encourage open conversations. 2. Inclusive Policies and Practices: Advocate for and implement inclusive policies that ensure a safe and supportive environment for all employees. Let’s make Pride 2024 a celebration of love, acceptance, and holistic well-being. 🌟

Identifying as a member of the Autistic and/or LGBTQ community allows individuals to live and lead authentically. Inclusive workplaces embrace diversity and foster acceptance, enhancing employee engagement and mental health. However, concerns about biases impacting professional relationships and opportunities remain prevalent. These concerns can hinder one’s sense of belonging and overall team experience. We must strive to create spaces where diversity is valued and where every employee feels safe, respected, and supported. Let’s be allies in building workplaces where everyone can thrive. How can parents and caregivers enhance the #MentalHealth outcomes of their LGBTQ+ loved ones and provide support? “Most important for a caregiver … is supporting your child regardless of whether you understand all aspects of queer identity. Simply treat them the way they want to be treated (including names and pronouns) and let them know you love them unconditionally.” - the Family Guide to Supporting Young People’s Mental Health and Well-Being, developed by Project Cal-Well. Did you know? LGBTQ+ individuals are significantly less likely to seek treatment for mental health issues due to fear of discrimination and stigmatization. This fear often stems from negative past experiences or anticipation of bias from healthcare providers. At Be Well Kentucky, we accept and respect all of our patients. Join us in promoting understanding, acceptance, and access to culturally competent care that respects and affirms the identities of all individuals. It's Pride Month: a time to celebrate love, diversity, and the LGBTQ+ community! However, while we celebrate the progress made so far, we recognize the work that still needs to be done. According to Mental Health America, LGBTQ+ teens are six times more likely to experience symptoms of depression than non-LGBTQ+ identifying teens, and LGBTQ+ youth are over four times as likely to attempt suicide compared to heterosexual youth. Our blog written by Counslr’s Jessica Wolsiefer, LCSW explores the history of pride month, LGBTQ+ mental health, and what we can do to work towards an inclusive society for all. Read the blog on our website! https://lnkd.in/g8fwVrsx – Empathetic leaders choose Counslr to empower their people and make it simple for them to prioritize their mental health.
