We have two summer internship roles currently available within the Department of Health Education. I have gotten quite a few emails from interested candidates who have just sent their resume as an attachment, without any text in the body of the email. I thought it might be helpful to provide some clear, simple suggestions for how to send an email expressing interest in an open role like this one. 1. Begin by introducing yourself, and stating your interest. "Hi, my name is Alyssa Gale, and I am writing to express my interest in the summer 2024 internship role with the Mount Sinai Public Health and Racial Justice Program." 2. Share a little bit of background that you think demonstrates your passion or qualifications. "As a champion for health equity, I have worked on xyz programs / with xyz groups / addressing xyz issues." 3. Thank the reader for their time, and reiterate your interest. "I appreciate your consideration, and am hopeful for the opportunity to further express my interest." Your email does not have to be long! Just a few sentences can do the trick, and provide a strong first impression that communicates enthusiasm and graciousness. It makes a big difference!

Horns Up, Current Texas Advertising & Public Relations Students: IPG Health has a great summer internship program and applications are open (due 1/31/24). IPG Health calls the program, the "Bold Beginners Program." It's so important that more strategic communication agencies offer internships like this to make students very prepared for industry. And it's PAID. I do not 'push' unpaid internships - it is not ethical in my opinion. You also have the opportunity to speak to the recruitment team during their virtual office hours. Just graduated? Graduating soon? Find out if they will allow you to apply as well - many interns are offered full-time positions post internship. Let's get some Longhorns in the program! Hook 'em! #txadpr #thelabut #txmedia #txcreative #moody #hiremoody #hornsup
Our Bold Beginners Summer Internship Applications launched last week, and we are so excited to continue looking through applications through January 31! (application details can be found here: https://lnkd.in/eN4jk7tN) In the meantime, if you have questions about the Bold Beginners Program or Application Process, the IPG Health Campus Recruitment Team wants to help! Join us for one of our virtual office hour sessions, either Nov 28 or Jan 11, anytime from 10 AM-2 PM EST. We look forward to connecting with you! * Please keep in mind that this event is to answer questions about the general program and application process, and will not be utilized for individual interviews or for conversations regarding full-time positions. Those who register through the below link and are eligible for the Bold Beginners program will receive a follow-up email with a zoom link closer to the office hours events. The goal of Project SEARCH is for interns to obtain competitive integrated employment after graduation. Gillette started Project SEARCH in 2017 in partnership with the White Bear School District. As we look back at the summer, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our interns for their valuable contributions to our team. Their presence has truly brightened our days, and as their time with us concludes, we're thrilled to reflect on the remarkable moments they've shared. Next up: Brady Allen who interned with our Parks Permits Department! Q: What is one thing you learned from your internship at Montgomery Parks? A: "I've developed an understanding of the importance of each division and how they all work together to help run a multi-million-dollar park system." Q: What is your proudest accomplishment/moment from your internship? A: "I am quite proud of my contributions to the updates on our park fields. I was able to help determine current field sizes and their associated sport, which will help customers better understand our fields during the reservation process. " Q: What was your favorite experience? A: "I thoroughly enjoyed using satellite images to look at and study our fields. This experience allowed me to recognize and appreciate all of the amazing facilities our residents have at their disposal. " Q: Any advice for new interns? A: "Don't be afraid to ask questions. At first, you are not familiar with all the policies of the office. By asking questions it helped me become so much more familiar with how things are run. Your coworkers are there to help you and trust me, they are more than willing to help!"
