@erik-anderson-601a8591/, Patient Care Executive at Adventist Health, says from the moment he joined the organization he knew it felt different. He said he felt the sense of Aloha. Treating patients and employees like Ohana - or family - is in their DNA. Erik told us that like with any family, there needs to be trust, transparency, and sometimes even tough love for accountability, which is a two-way street. The team at Adventist Health Castle listens to the community and deeply values that feedback when choosing how to best serve their patients and teams. Their holistic approach includes community-centered events like Christmas tree lightings, speaking to students, and other ways that encourage the community to become a partner in their healthcare. Their commitment to clinical excellence combined with their “Love Matters” campaign lead them to a Baldrige Award win in 2017. To hear more about this remarkable organization, and learn more about how they teach empathy, value vulnerability, and “measure what they treasure”, check out the full interview with Erik: https://lnkd.in/eJe7qwmM Learn more about Adventist Health Castle: https://lnkd.in/e4FzbHVB Topical time codes: 00:43 - Feeling the Aloha 1:51 - Culture within the organization, Ohana 3:55 - Teaching empathy 7:04 - Love Matters campaign and Baldrige Award win 8:30 - How to connect with the community 11:28 - Community engagement 16:15 - Trust, transparency, and tough love 18:52 - Gratitude as part of Love Matters #healthcare #CompassionateCare #communityengagement #particpatorymedicine #aloha #ohana

Assistant Professor, Yale School of Medicine and Director, Patient Quality and Safety, St. Raphael's Campus, Yale New Haven Health. Experienced Leader, Author, Speaker, Consultant.
For those with a Tuesday morning commute, this interview is certainly eye opening. One thing about the Steward Health debacle is the sale of the physician group. Rumor has it Optum is poking around in this mess. Patients, nurses, physicians, and communities are probably feeling helpless and out of control as this whole mess unfolds. Physicians and nurses need to go the Massachusetts capitol and make it known that trading a PE disaster for a for profit arm of UHG is not a winning strategy. Keep it local and regional. Hospitals are supposed to be an anchor of healthcare provision in communities. How did we get to this point? Where are we going? Do we keep letting corporate mindsets and greed simply destroy communities and the lives of those who provide the care--namely the nurses, physicians, pharmacists, social workers, techs, and other support staff who signed up for careers to make a difference? PE has no business in healthcare. None.

Investing in primary care at BCBSMA
Senior Vice President, Performance Measurement & Improvement at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
Excited to share Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts’ new program to increase investment in small and independent primary care practices. We know that primary care-oriented health systems produce better, more efficient patient care. We are starting with the practices where resources are needed most urgently—and where we can be sure they will be devoted to primary care. https://lnkd.in/eF649YEh

Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer, HCAH India | Mergers & Acquisitions Specialist | Leading Fundraising | Building Remarkable Products | Heading New Initiatives
On 27th of September, we celebrated 11 years of HCAH! How do we measure this journey? The story of HCAH isn’t told through the ticking clock, but through the hearts healed, the smiles returned, and the hope rekindled. That's when you're getting somewhere. That's when you're measuring something real, measuring the impact and not mere presence. Over the past 11 years, it’s been about reaching out, making a difference right where it matters the most. It’s about the late-night calls, the early morning check-ups, the assurance that help is just a call away. We started this journey with a simple yet profound vision: to bring healthcare home, to make it personal, accessible, and reliable. And today, the journey reflects not just a business growth, but the growth of trust, relationships, and a community that believes in the promise of good health. So, as we mark this milestone, we're not counting the years; we're counting the millions of lives touched and the trust earned. Here’s to many more years of touching lives, creating smiles, and reawakening dreams. #HCAH #HealthcareAtHome #11YearsOfImpact

Cityblock’s Chief Health Officer, Kameron Matthews, took a moment to reflect on the need for more personalized, value-based care for those who have served our nation. In this piece, she discusses steps that can be taken to build a proper infrastructure in the traditional healthcare system to provide continuity and consistency of care for our Veterans. #VeteransDay "Veterans need a set of integrated services that provides continuity and consistency across competing institutions and payers. Veterans’ day-to-day challenges are not limited to the walls of the hospital or clinic; therefore, we need solutions that are community-based, culturally fluent, trust-building, affordable, and accommodating." Keep up the good work Lown Institute. This work is important for many reasons, including that Gen Z and the next generation of healthcare workers are increasingly drawn to health systems who prioritize social responsibility and businesses that have a dedication to DEI want their employees and their families to be cared by culturally sensitive providers. #socialresponsibility #esg #healthcare

This National Hospital Week, we honor America's hospitals, particularly rural and critical-access hospitals that dot the heartland. Working in a rural or critical-access hospital means being part of a close-knit community, and earning trust requires compassion, empathy, and a firm commitment to public health. We admire those who work in these roles to ensure each patient is treated with the same level of quality care they would receive in larger facilities. Staffing for rural and critical-access hospitals is about more than just filling positions; it's about understanding the unique dynamics and needs of communities, and we are honored to be your solution provider in this endeavor. Learn more about the challenges rural and critical-access hospitals face: https://lnkd.in/gY7EjC7D #WeAreHealthCare #LocumTenens #NationalHospitalWeek

Doctors, what if I told you a simple "thank you" could transform your clinic? When you appreciate your staff, the atmosphere changes. A better culture emerges from just that small gesture. And this improved culture? It creates a workplace where everyone feels valued. When employees are happy, they exude positivity. Patients pick up on this. They sense the difference, feeling more cared for and valued. The bonus? A valued team is less likely to experience burnout. They're more engaged and committed. This energy is contagious. Patients feel it. They're more likely to come back, to trust, and to spread the word. So, next time you see your receptionist, nurse, or any team member, offer a word of gratitude. It's a minor act with major impact. P.S. Doctors looking to attract more patients, follow me. I offer straightforward advice on growing your clinic. I have nothing to sell; I'm just here to help. #patientcare #patientexperience #doctor #hospital #gratitude #thankful #frontlineworkers #frontlineworkers
This post isn’t in celebration of any specific appreciation day or week.. just want to do a shout out! In the healthcare provider world, we deeply understand that every employee plays a significant role, no matter their task. However, today, I'd like to give a special shoutout to our incredible CNAs who step into the spotlight every day. They offer care, comfort, and the essential human touch with expertise, patience, and compassion. They're truly the heroes on the front line of care. So, to all CNAs, our heartfelt appreciation to you! You are the best. 🙌 #HealthcareHeroes #CNAs #FrontlineCare
