🌟 **Turning a New Leaf: A Commitment to Growth and Support** 🌟 In our interconnected world, finding balance and meaningful connections amongst the digital noise is becoming increasingly challenging. It's in this light that I want to extend a sincere apology to my network here on LinkedIn. My presence on this platform has been sporadic at best, a reality that stems, in no small part, from the overwhelming influx of messages I receive. The sheer volume of emails, predominantly sales pitches, has made it difficult for me to engage here as meaningfully as I would like. However, I've come to recognize that stepping away is not the solution. Instead, it's about refocusing—shifting the lens through which I view these interactions and how I choose to engage with this incredible community. With that said, I'm committing to a new path forward. A path focused on personal growth, but more importantly, on how I can contribute to others' journeys. My goal is to cultivate a space here that transcends the transactional nature of our digital interactions, fostering real connection and support. In line with this new direction, I'm excited to share an opportunity particularly relevant for managers overseeing Independent Care or Assisted Living Communities. Last week was a whirlwind of introductory calls with potential clients, and I must say, I'm always energized by meeting new faces in our vibrant community. One conversation began with, "I finally meet the famous Sharon Niman, I was told you were the person to call," while another shared, "I know all about you—kids, grandchildren, love of home care, assisted living, and anything healthcare."  It's always humbling and slightly amusing to hear what people know about me. But here's something you might not know... Beyond the familiar titles and known passions lies my undying love for what I do.  My drive? To become the undeniable go-to in the homecare and assisted living sectors for operational excellence, strategic innovation, and uncompromising quality. Why am I sharing this? Because behind the operational strategies and quality metrics lies a story, a mission, and a passion that fuels my every day. And maybe, just maybe, it's a passion that can inspire or resonate with you too. Today is Groundhog Day. If you are into legendary folklore, it’s the day that Punxsutawney Phil either sees his shadow or doesn’t, determining whether we will have an early spring or 6 additional weeks of winter. In case you missed it, he did not see his shadow! There’s also a great movie by the same title starring Bill Murray in which his character, a TV weatherman, relives the same day over and over after covering the main event in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. What does any of this have to do with health care and health equity? One of the most frustrating things for those of us who are truly committed to improving care for marginalized groups is that outcomes are not getting better. In fact, in many cases, the data shows outcomes are getting worse. So here’s my question- are we doing the same thing over and over again and wondering why we are not getting different results? Are we leveraging the knowledge and expertise of the communities we serve? Are we exploring solutions that may take longer and require a larger financial investment, but will ultimately create the systems necessary to elevate our policies and practices?
