So, the previous viewing in West Bridgford proved to be a non starter - the ‘space’ at the back turned out to actually be on the front! But I’ve 4 more viewings this week, in Arnold this time. Again, a good area, with good links to the city centre and University. I’m also viewing a commercial property on Friday, with a view to a conversion to resi. HMO might seem the better option for higher cashflow, but the area seems flooded with them and we prefer to convert and sell as individual apartments within the block. If it’s a goer, from the plans, it looks like it would be around 9 units, so a tasty project with potential for great investor returns and creating 9 homes out of a derelict office. A win-win! Less is More… or is it? Our entire wee 2 story house in Belfast would have fit into the first floor of the 2800sq ft home we first bought in the USA. Then we moved up to 3500sq ft while the kids grew up. Next was 3100 sq ft (still a 2 level), but after that, no more stairs. By age 50, it was time for a smaller one story home. First, 1900 sq ft, then 1700 sq ft and now with Lisa Fritz, 1600 sq ft of unbridled happiness.. easy to maintain and enough space to host guests in a spare room..
