Hi Folks, Given the increasing geopolitical instability, timely and accurate threat detection has become the number one priority for many defense organizations. In that context one more of my patents was recently granted: US11892559B2 Radar calibration system and method for moving a radar calibration target along a desired movement path. https://lnkd.in/d2JEwrn5 Advantages of using this method are numerous: calibrate anywhere, anytime - including shipborne radar underway! At last, Life comes full circle! It seems unbelievable when claimed that a drone can be foolproof against all sorts of radio jamming. However, a strange new FPV kamikaze #drone tells a different story. The innovative approach used here to overcoming radio interference was – instead of relying on radio signals, it communicates with the operator through a fiber-optic cable spooled out as it flies! This spool of fiber optic cable can be attached to a optical transceiver used for high-speed communications. Now, despite being undetectable, this drone is only effective for very limited-range reconnaissance. But the fun fact is, the above mentioned technology was used from 1940 to late 1970s for the ‘wire-guided missiles’, but was cut short due to the introduction of new & innovative solutions such as radio frequency. Who knows, perhaps the answers to many of our current technological challenges lie in revisiting old technologies, but from a different perspective!
