We’re celebrating & supporting motherhood all month long with Month of Mom! We spend all year at Huckleberry marveling at the wonder of moms but we believe they are in need of more than one day of recognition. Throughout May, we’re celebrating their resiliency and exploring the many ways motherhood impacts mental health and wellness. It’s a paradox: One moment, your heart may swell with soaring highs, then you’re suddenly clouded with worry, frustration, or overwhelm — sometimes all in the span of an hour! And just like the weather, you can’t always predict what’s coming next. But moms need more than just recognition, so we'll also offer realistic ways to find balance in the chaos. We've partnered with experts to bring awareness to maternal mental health, share resources, and discuss adaptable ways to cope with the ever-changing ebb and flow of parenthood. Real Moms Live: Nurturing Mental Health Through the Motherhood Journey At Real Moms Live, Child and Family Counseling, Inc., we recognize the profound mental health challenges mothers encounter throughout their journey of motherhood. From the moment of conception, the path of motherhood is strewn with emotional complexities and unforeseen hurdles. As mothers, we navigate a maze of identity shifts, reorganization, and the perpetual quest for balance amidst the chaos. Each day presents new challenges, from soothing a crying infant to guiding a rebellious teenager or young adult; all while managing our own emotional well-being. The reality is, motherhood is a life sentence providing support & nurturing even adult children as they are guided through navigating their own concept of family. Yet, amidst the joy and fulfillment, we encounter moments of doubt, guilt, and overwhelming stress. Society's expectations often amplify these struggles, fostering a culture of judgment and comparison that undermines maternal confidence. Real Moms Live understands the unique mental health needs of mothers and the importance of providing a safe space for expression and healing. Our journey encompasses the highs and lows, the triumphs and tribulations, and the relentless pursuit of self-discovery and growth. Through compassionate support and evidence-based interventions, we empower mothers to navigate their mental health challenges with resilience and grace. Together, we embrace vulnerability, celebrate victories, and foster a community of understanding and acceptance. Join us on this transformative journey of motherhood, where mental health is prioritized, struggles are met with empathy, and every mother is valued for her strength and resilience. #RealMomsLive #MotherhoodJourney #MentalHealthAwareness #Empowerment #SupportiveCommunity #SelfDiscovery

Motherhood can be lonely and isolating. And if you feel this way, it can be scary to express it. You might think that you should “just be grateful” or that you’re supposed to “cherish every moment” of motherhood. But you can feel more than one thing at the same time. You can love your children with all your heart and still feel resentful when your work and labor go unseen and unvalued. You can love being a mother and still feel overwhelmed and unappreciated. And you can feel happy with your children and still feel invisible and lonely. According to a new survey from Peanut called Invisible Mothers, 79% of mothers report feeling invisible. 95% say they feel unappreciated, unacknowledged, or unseen. And their top reasons for feeling this way were: 〰 Their family 〰 Their friends 〰 Their partner 〰 And medical professionals As moms, we often feel like we have to mother in silos–without asking for support, showing signs of struggle, or making mistakes along the way. But those expectations are unreasonable–and they leave us feeling overwhelmed and depleted. I want you to know that if you are feeling this way, you are not alone. And you don’t have to struggle in silence without any support. Our maternal mental health specialists are here to help! We offer virtual therapy support for moms across Canada and the United States, serving you at every step of your journey. Our mom therapists understand what you’re going through. They can help with: 〰 Breaking away from societal expectations of motherhood 〰 Advocating for your needs 〰 Prioritizing your time 〰 Rediscovering yourself in motherhood 〰 Tuning into your values 〰 Sharing the invisible load 〰 And more! Find out if we serve your area and book a FREE 15 minute virtual consultation. None of us want to get angry with our children, but is anger interpreted differently because of role and gender? Anger in motherhood is unique, largely because of unrealistic pressure and expectations placed on mom. But we can’t talk about it without taking into account the big picture, including the way anger in fatherhood is viewed so differently than anger in motherhood. Anger in dads is often viewed as: 〰 Authority 〰 Disciplinary 〰 Masculinity 〰 Firm 〰 Justified While anger in motherhood is viewed as: 〰 Impatient 〰 Unkind 〰 Complaining 〰 Nagging 〰 Hysterical We often hold ourselves up to these same social views, expecting ourselves to be perfect and patient and kind (and shaming ourselves when we don’t hit the mark). The answer isn’t to toss out our goals or stop working to break cycles and stay regulated. But taking off some of the pressure to be perfect can actually help us work on proactively approaching anger instead of viewing it from a lens of shame. If you find yourself in the anger/shame cycle, our maternal mental health specialists are here to help! We offer virtual therapy support for moms across Canada and the United States, serving you at every step of your journey. We recently launched in several new states, now serving 65% of the US (CA, NY, TX, FL, OH, PA, GA, WA, AZ, WI, VA, IL, TE, MI). Our mom therapists understand what you’re going through. They can help with: 〰 Identifying your triggers for overwhelm and anger 〰 Break away from guilt, pressure, shame, and unrealistic expectations 〰 Advocate for your needs 〰 Practice real self-care 〰 Repair with your child after human moments 〰 And more! Find out if we serve your area and book a FREE 15 minute virtual consultation at momwell.com/booking
