We had the privilege of hosting Mr. Michael S. Regan, Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, along with delegates from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Commerce at IITM Research Park! During their visit, they were provided with a comprehensive overview of our cutting-edge R&D and startup incubation ecosystem. One of the highlights was the introduction to NeoMotion, our successfully incubated assistive mobility startup. The delegation also had the opportunity to explore our centers of excellence in clean water and battery engineering, witnessing firsthand the innovative work being done in these fields. A significant part of their visit involved a curated interaction between the delegates, academia, and startups, focusing on the advancements in clean energy technologies, our progress and commitment to achieving sustainability. More Australian small businesses can now access research and development (R&D) funding and expertise through Australia’s national science agency, as CSIRO broadens its Kick-Start program. The program has now been expanded with an increase in eligibility to include businesses with a turnover of up to $10 million. This marks a significant increase from the previous eligibility of companies with a turnover of up to $1.5 million.

We're excited to announce the winners of the 2024 TEX-E Prize! 🥇 First place ($25,000) — Solidec: Solidec extracts the most sought-after molecules from the most sustainable sources. It upgrades molecular building blocks from water and air into pure chemicals and fuels, without any fossil-fuel emissions. Its team is from Rice University. 🥈 Second place ($15,000) — Coflux Purification: Coflux uses an in-stream module to break down PFAS using a novel foam for chemical-free water. By using Coflux, customers can avoid energy use (and emissions), using significantly less energy per gallon of water processed. Its team is from Rice University. 🥉 Third place ($10,000) — AirMax: AirMax is an HVAC retrofit system designed to materially increase efficiency of existing commercial air-conditioning equipment. Its proprietary system is engineered to reduce ongoing utility expenses and lower greenhouse gas emissions for grocers and big box retailers. Its team is from The University of Texas at Austin.
