Principal Systems Engineer at Synoptix | CEng MIMechE ASEP MINCOSE

Enlightening couple of days at the INCOSE International Symposium #INCOSEIS The presentation material was of an exceptionally high standard. Kudos to all of the speakers and paper authors who delivered some really thought-provoking content. Highlights include: - Embracing AI to enhance systems engineering practice; - Data and distributed decision making; - Working ‘smarter’ in MBSE; - Drawing systems engineering inspiration from nature (and understanding positive emergent behaviour); - Delivering effective technical leadership in increasingly complex and uncertain contexts. Lots to digest both for Synoptix and INCOSE UK going forward. On a personal note, it was a privilege to finally engage in person with my international colleagues and coaches from the INCOSE Technical Leadership Institute. After 3 years of online workshops and collaboration this was long overdue. What a remarkable bunch #INCOSETLI #SystemsEngineering #SystemsThinking #TechnicalLeadership #LeadershipinAI #Complexity #MBSE #EngineeringWithNature

Jack Sutherland an interesting read this. Just one word of caution though; whilst we consider and push SE forward we need to maintain focus on why we are doing it in the first place and continue to tailor SE to what clients really need. We at Synoptix, as you'll know well, are pushing the future of SE and SE visualisation with our links with University of the West of England via our academic engagements, but many current clients aren't at that stage yet. There is growing opinion that a Middle-Out approach is often the best basis for a tailored approach into clients who have strong organisational or delivery constraints.
