We begin learning how to regulate emotions as early as our single-digit years, taking plenty of cues from how our parents regulate their emotions...or how they don't. So, in a new study published in the journal Applied Research in Quality of Life1, researchers wanted to know exactly what parents can do to help their kids learn to regulate emotions. Here's what they found. via https://lnkd.in/eA6VEYGS

Delighted to be presenting at the transdisciplinary conference at the University of Cambridge. Organized by Roula-Maria Dib this conference seeks to bring together scholars, creatives, and arts-based researchers working on topics related to modernism and/or the contemporary cultural scenes that may have risen from the modernist period, such as literary studies, psychology, musicology, art studies, architecture, philosophy, film studies, media studies and beyond. I look forward to presenting - ‘The dangers of over diagnosis in mental health in today’s modern world’ In mental health, overdiagnosis occurs when people do experience symptoms, but where definitions of disorders include potentially transitory or mild symptoms that reflect ordinary life experiences that, as such, are not amenable to improvement or management benefits through medical intervention. Overtreatment following overdiagnosis can lead to clinically important consequences, including death from the side effects of treatment.
