WEEK 10 Mental Health Exercise Drawing attention to the sense of touch brings us into the present moment. It is in these moments we can reduce stress and anxiety. 1-Minute Meditation with Sense of Touch Close your eyes and pay attention to your body’s sense of touch. Notice what your body feels like, what sensations you can feel, and what different parts of your body are feeling or touching (hands, arms, feet, legs, etc.).

Happy #WorldMeditationDay! Meditation is a great mood booster. It can do wonders for our mental health by giving us a moment to stop, reflect and be calm. Research has found that meditation can actually help us cope with the symptoms that anxiety, depression and other mental health disorders cause. Why not try a really simple meditation like taking 30 seconds to focus on slow breathing? If it helps, do it a few times a day to ground yourself!

Our bodies and our minds are connected, so looking after ourselves physically also helps us prevent problems with our mental health. Exercise releases “feel good” hormones, that reduce feelings of stress and anger. It also helps us feel better about our bodies. It can improve our sleep too. If it involves other people, like being part of a team, a class or group we see regularly, that can also boost our mental health.
