At Invitae, we want to help address this paradox by bringing genetic testing into mainstream preventive care. Learn how testing men for prostate cancer risk can be one of many ways to improve men’s health: https://invit.ae/3VIF2Yb

📣 Call for a legally binding global treaty to control the production and use of Endocrine-disrupting Chemicals (EDCs). 🍼🧴🍳 EDCs are found in plastics, pesticides, consumer products, and PFAS. ⚕️Rising rates of cancer, infertility, and obesity are suspected to be at least partially attributable to the presence of endocrine disruptors in the human body. ♀️ Research shows the chemicals to be especially dangerous to pregnant women and to children. (Happy international women's day.) Thanks to IPEN (International Pollutants Elimination Network) and the Endocrine Society for their tireless work. We really need to get these harmful chemicals under control.

Lung cancer is a complex disease, and its development is influenced by various risk factors. Understanding these risk factors is crucial for identifying individuals at higher risk and implementing appropriate preventive measures. Today is #rarediseaseday which affects less than 1 in 2,000 and can often slip between the cracks in awareness - but is no less important. Here's why: 1. A scarcity of robust scientific insights and accurate disease data often leads to delayed diagnoses. 2. The requirement for high-quality medical attention exacerbates disparities and challenges in obtaining treatment, causing significant social and financial strain on patients. 3. Given the wide array of disorders and common symptoms, which might obscure underlying rare ailments, initial misdiagnoses are frequent. Furthermore, symptoms not only vary between diseases but also among patients afflicted by the same disease. 4. Global research efforts are imperative to foster connectivity among specialists, researchers, and healthcare professionals. #MusicBeatsCancer #Cancer #cancerresearch
