State Of The Art innovation carried out in the flume at T3! Creating the fastest wetsuit, swimskin or trisuit is not only about pure velocity, but efficiency, function and rules. A wetsuit's primary function is thermal insulation and safety against cold water, which within the rules of FINA, World Triathlon and The IRONMAN Group also leads to the best performance over the distance swum. For swimskins and trisuits, it is all about efficiency, improving velocity without additional thermal and metabolic cost. There are plenty more novel measurements under the surface, proprietary to the project. It also allowed us to validate and refine our tehnique and methods used for reversed extrapolation using the VO2 Master in swimming, with an avg. reproducability of ~100-150 ml @ ~4000 and 6000 ml VO2. However, for R&D at this level, we needed continuous systems to collect the input and output affected by the wetsuits and swimskins with the highest precission to quantify and breakdown the wetsuit and swimskin efficiency. We have further developed a snorkel system for a gold standard mixing chamber system validated on douglas bag and lung simulators for the purpose. This has been a project led by Santara Technology, analysed by Entalpi AS and would never have been possible without multiple teams from deboer wetsuits, FORM, greenteg AG, Trimtex Sport Group -> Surpas, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences mechanical engineering and sports department, but not the least a large thanks to Kevin Korff Konrad and his team at Tenerife Top Training (T3) for the incredible fascility and support!
