In addition to the 737 Max 8 software issues and the recent 737 Max 9 failure, Boeing also is suffering with the 787 issues as well. Boeing is one of the long-term aircraft manufacturers in the US. It is a US treasure and asset. All of which makes the current spate of problems more worrisome. Has American manufacturers forgotten how to systems integrate, design, manage supply chain, and produce quality product fit for purpose? All of the aerospace consolidation over the past several decades and the dual commerical/military roles all add to Boeing’s complexity. Managing complexity down to practiced and structured simplicity is an essential design/manufacturing ability.

Boeing Shares Dip as Delivery of 737 MAX Jets Faces Setback Due to Supplier Issue: Boeing, the prominent U.S. aircraft manufacturer, witnessed a 4% drop in its stock value (BA.N) during early trading on Thursday. The decline came in response to Boeing's announcement of anticipated delays in the delivery of 737 MAX jets in the near term. These delays stem from a newly emerged quality concern associated with its major supplier, Spirit AeroSystems (SPR.N). The setback has prompted concerns regarding Boeing's ability to meet its annual target of delivering 450 planes within the 737 series. While some analysts on Wall Street have expressed worries about the company's delivery goal, Boeing itself has stated that it is currently evaluating the feasibility of achieving this target. This is not the first time Boeing's delivery objectives have been put under review. In the previous year, the company was compelled to adjust its targets due to challenges in its supply chain. The latest impediment is attributed to issues related to improperly shaped holes found in the aft pressure bulkhead of certain aircraft. The aft pressure bulkhead is a crucial structural element that seals off the back section of the pressurized cabin. The problematic parts responsible for the setback were manufactured by Spirit AeroSystems, whose stock value (SPR.N) plummeted to a 30-month low of $20.09. The ongoing struggles in meeting delivery targets highlight the intricate web of dependencies within the aerospace industry, underscoring how issues at one stage of production can reverberate throughout the entire supply chain. As Boeing navigates these challenges, the company's ability to address quality concerns swiftly and regain its delivery momentum will be closely watched by investors, analysts, and industry observers. #737max #boeing #aviation

This incident with the Boeing 737 Max underscores the critical importance of thorough research and quality control in business operations. Just as Boeing faces scrutiny for the oversight of missing bolts in the aircraft's door, businesses must ensure meticulous attention to detail to prevent potential failures and maintain customer trust. Conducting comprehensive research and customer insight studies can help identify potential issues before they escalate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products or services. As Boeing's response indicates, taking proactive measures to strengthen quality processes and transparency is essential for building and maintaining confidence among customers. Boeing's recent earnings call suggests that activity around its 737 Max production line in Everett is picking up. Despite challenges, including quality control issues with fuselages from its supplier, Spirit AeroSystems, Boeing aims to reach its goal of producing 38 Max jets per month by the end of the year. CEO David Calhoun mentioned the company's readiness to increase production beyond 50 jets per month by 2026, pending supplier capabilities. Boeing is also setting up a new 737 line in Everett for additional capacity, with deliveries expected by 2025. The company plans to restart production of the 777X by year-end and anticipates certifying the Max 7 by year's end and the Max 10 in 2024. Quality control challenges are a concern in the industry. #smartcap #redmond #kirkland #bellevue #boeing #everett #factory #production #delivery #manufacturing

Boeing delivery status. https://lnkd.in/ghdXXjCc a tricky thing to predict. For those who watch this from a financial perspective, I will remind you of one thing. Boeing only worries about the final +/-15% of the money flow on delivery. So really the delivery rate is not as important to the stock as the order book and the quarterly output. That said. Stability is REALLY important. All supply chains are stretched and Boeing's is clearly under a lot of stress. I used to use a simple rule of thumb. How many fuselage barrels are waiting in the siding?

What's happening with #Boeing? Quality Issues and Supplier Oversight Concerns. A new problem has been found during the production of 737 Max jets. Boeing has to rework about 50 planes that have not yet been delivered. Boeing's quality issues have caused financial losses of $2.2 billion in 2023 and a total of $26.7 billion over the last five years. You could have the best strategy with top marketing & sales, but if #quality and #supplychain is a concern, you can't go too far. Thoughts?
