[Law360 UK Pulse] London-based legal software company Lawtech 365 - Legal Technology Group announced that it is looking to invest in #legaltech startups, an announcement that comes as artificial intelligence is being integrated into legal processes. Lawtech 365 indicated it is particularly interested in early stage #startups with a fully functional minimum viable product, referring to a product with enough features for customers to use and provide feedback on for further product development. CEO Rudi Kesic said in a statement that Lawtech 365 is specifically looking at #investing in legal tech startups in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia, where access to capital and marketplace is more limited. "Our launchpad programme is designed to offer these startups a gateway to prominent legal markets including the UK, Australia, Canada, the U.S., and the EU," he said. Kesic added that a partnership with Lawtech 365 will allow startups to integrate their products into the company's existing suite of tools. "This symbiotic relationship aims to shorten the journey to market penetration significantly, especially for startups from regions with great potential but traditionally lesser access to financial resources," the company said. ### Latest News: VIZZIO ENGAGES WONG PARTNERSHIP TO REVIEW IP AND CLIENT LISTS ### Given recent media reports questioning the authenticity of VIZZIO’s intellectual property (IP) and client lists, we have taken proactive steps to safeguard our integrity and reassure our stakeholders. We have engaged a leading Singaporean law firm, WongPartnership, to conduct a thorough review of our IP filings and client lists. In their process, they examined the contracts and invoices between VIZZIO and our customers, and also reviewed the supporting documents for the IP applications made by Jon Lee and/or his companies. We are delighted to report that the review by WongPartnership has substantiated the authenticity of our IP filings and client relationships. This review underscores our commitment to transparency and accountability. We will continue our efforts to enhance confidence in the credibility of our technology, which has been applied with great success in many customer projects. We are also in the process of engaging media organisations that have published reports casting doubts on our technology and our client lists. One of these organisations, Tech in Asia, has since issued clarifications on their website https://lnkd.in/gEZ-yjMb We will continue to address all other wrong or defamatory allegations against our company, while improving corporate governance and enhancing internal checks where genuine shortcomings are identified. At VIZZIO, we remain steadfast in our mission to drive innovation and deliver value to our clients. Complicated business processes fail. They have to be easy. This is especially true with IP capture. But it's worse than you think. You can't patent something you don't know is there to be patented. Most startups do not have a plan in place for capturing IP. You have to ask, how is your startup going to discover its new or existing IP? This is why it's important to have a method in place to capture IP, make decisions on protecting it, and if the decision is to protect it, execute. Top startups know this, which is why they build IP capture right into their standard operating procedures. Here's a high-level of the procedures you need to get started: - A way for employees to submit IP (create visibility) - A way for you to evaluate submitted IP (make decisions) - A way to add your IP counsel to the conversation (execute) Some startups do this in house, some totally outsource it, but the best way is a blend of in-house working with your IP counsel. It's one of the cool things that subscription legal enables—being able to have these small conversations without starting a huge project. How is your startup handling this? #TechLawMadeEasy #intellectualproperty #iplaw #techlaw __________ ✨ Will this be useful? Follow to learn how your startup can capture and leverage its IP. ⚡️ Stake is a subscription-based IP & technology law firm focused on making tech law easy for startups staking out their next stage of growth.
