🌍🌱 We had a great discussion internally at ekko this week around how major cities like London and Paris are taking ambitious steps to combat climate change and lower their carbon emissions. They are implementing comprehensive strategies that include expanding public transportation, promoting cycling and walking, increasing green spaces, enhancing energy efficiency in buildings and transitioning to renewable energy sources for power generation. Through these initiatives, these cities are striving to create more sustainable and livable urban environments while setting an example for other metropolitan areas worldwide. As someone who lives in central London, doesn’t drive and fully relies on public transport - these initiatives really excite me. 🏁 Alpine to unveil the Alpenglow Hydrogen Prototype at Spa-Francorchamps #Alpine #Alpenglow #Prototype #Hydrogen #Innovation 🔥 Alpine will present its hydrogen prototype ahead of the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. It will run three laps on 11 May in Belgium. This new vehicle embodies the ambitions of sustainable design and innovation. 🚗 The French team has named its hydrogen prototype Alpenglow, which was already unveiled in late 2022 at the Paris Motor Show. Now, Alpine is preparing to reveal a version in with a hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine and an all-new design. 🎉 Fans travelling to Belgium will have the chance to see the Alpenglow on track. It will do three laps as an exhibition and makes clear its intention to be in the Endurance Championship when the hydrogen regulations come into force. Last week we took part in the celebration of European Mobility Week 2023 in Bilbao.   Our Urbino 12 hydrogen was placed on one of the city streets so that all Bilbao residents could get familiar with its advantages. This state-of-the-art hydrogen-powered vehicle already carries passengers in other Spanish city - Palma de Mallorca.   Many cities on the Iberian Peninsula also use our zero-emission solutions - in Madrid, Fuenlabrada, Manresa, Elche, Valle de Trapaga or Bilbao you can find our Urbino 12 electric, and in Barcelona also its articulated brother, Urbino 18 electric.   Almost 3,000 cities from all over Europe are taking part in this year's European Mobility Week. Electric propulsion isn't just for people who own boats, it's a game-changer for everyone! How? Cities worldwide are turning to electric boats powered by our Torqeedo solutions, making #emobility more accessible to a general audience. I always like to emphasize that electromobility shouldn't be limited to roads - all around the world, cities can save significant amounts of emissions by transferring their maritime traffic to electric boats. Whenever you electrify a ferry, you can actually save the equivalent of 40 diesel buses! The positive effect for inner-city banks is undeniable, for example along the Spree in the German capital Berlin. Here, pollutant particle levels were 15 times higher than the limit set by the World Health Organization (WHO)*.
