Leaders who understand that leading others is a privilege also know that no one is an expert in everything. Instead, the most influential businesses are built by a team committed to helping the organization achieve its vision and purpose. According to Brian Scudamore, I've learned that strong leaders don't fight to have the first and last word. Instead, they listen to their teams, ask the right questions, and allow everyone to contribute. Why do so many leaders seem to forget that leading others more than anything else should be held in reverence? You are privileged to be in a position where you can direct, shape, and focus the potential of people toward a specific result. Remember, leadership is all about people, inspiring people to believe that the impossible is possible, developing and building people to perform at heights they never imagine. It's all about inspiring your team to become the very best version of themselves. When you understand that, your company will become one of the best in the world. Many of the problems existing in varying organizations today come from piss poor leadership and management. While great leaders encourage their employees to reach their full potential and help their organizations surpass their goals, weak managers push their employees away to the point where many jump ship. According to Greg Savage, most people don’t change jobs solely for money. They rarely resign on a whim or in a fit of anger. They joined the company because they believed it was right for them and wanted it to be right. Something, at some point, made it wrong. And if you really take the time to dig into their real reasons for leaving — and you should — you will find that it’s not “the company” they blame. It’s not the location, or the team, or the database or the air-conditioning. It’s the leadership! So, next time you get a resignation, resist the temptation to laugh it off as “another dumbo who doesn’t get us.” It’s not the departing employee who doesn’t “get it.” It’s not the company they are leaving; it’s the leadership.

One of my clients has just given all their employees a 6.2% Cost of Living payrise. Virtually unheard of, I reckon, in our sector these days. No strings. No target increases. No performance relation. Just an acknowledgement that life's getting a bit more expensive. Nicely done. 👏 #rec2rec #wsr2r #r2r

Business Development Manager with Beacon Building Products and Owner/Director of Mariachi Pueblo Viejo
Why I love working at BrightView! As soon as the management team heard my wife and 4 month old baby girl got sick with COVID. They sprung into action. Countless phone calls checking in and a delicious dinner from Chipotle. Thank you Jon Hasbrouck and BrightView Landscapes for making me feel valued, appreciated, and cared for. #whyIworkhere
