There’s a lot of soul searching required to leave a FTSE company that has looked after me so well for 10 years, but I know I’ve found a business that will literally allow me to spread my wings!

It was inspiring to hear from Alex Lintner, CEO of Experian Software Solutions, at our townhall as he shared with us our progress and our ambition and the upcoming strategic focus.
Here’s my takeaways
📈Our revenue, EBIT and EPS grew, despite the broader market weakness.
❤️We want to be a model of how people should be. Not just peace but love each other. For instance, to provide support to those who might be going through dark moments.
🧑🤝🧑Our Great Place to Work survey score of 87% puts us at the top 5% of employers in the world.
⚙️We will enable our people by giving them the best tools to build world class software.
🤖Ascend, our big data platform, is used by nearly all banks in US.
⚙️We want to have engineering excellence and that’s a mindset.
And one tip they would share with their younger self :

Alex: We have 2 ears and 1 mouth so we should do twice as much listening than talking

This is a good moment to talk about what makes a company have a great culture.
My first memory of XRM Vision is a series of posts by employees, sharing photos of the goodie bags that they got from the company. My second memory was more posts, this time from people who got personalized gifts for their newborn kids. I remember it was quite funny that I didn’t know anything about the company, other than the kinds of gifts they send to the employees.
Then I had a few conversations with XRM Vision, and after the second interview, I withdrew ALL OTHER APPLICATIONS for all other companies, because at that point I frankly could not see myself working anywhere else.
Why did I do this? And how do I feel about that decision now, after a year and a half with XRM Vision?
I would say I picked XRM Vision for its culture. I can now confidently say that it was a good call. Not only I was entirely correct in estimating the culture of the company, but it also absolutely changed my life for the better.
So what is so special about the XRM Vision team, and what lessons can other teams learn from us?
Our team has something that is incredibly hard to recreate - the celebrations, the support, the connections, they are all genuine. The company culture is not imposed from the top. We are not obligated to be friends but somehow, we have an environment that naturally helps us be this way.
I think the success of our culture can be tracked to a few things. First of all, the company directors walk the talk. When I had difficulties, the team came together every time. Currently, I am studying for my master's, and the start of the program was a lot more difficult and involved than what we planned for. However, I have received an enormous amount of support from everyone in the team. I have seen this happen many times with other employees in a crisis. Second, is that everyone on our team feels that we are personally contributing to the emotional climate in the company. We reach out individually, organize events and we support one another in all contexts. I think we just like to work in an environment like ours, and we don’t have barriers that would prevent us from sustaining it. Lastly, we have lots of tools that allow us to take good care of ourselves. We can choose our work hours, we have personal team leads, we have mental health insurance and a nice range of mental health initiatives. Stress management is evidently one of the primary goals of the company's management.

**Unlocking Insights from the Bank Marketing Dataset**
In this fascinating project, we ventured into the world of banking and marketing, diving deep into the Bank Marketing dataset. This dataset is a treasure trove of information collected from a direct marketing campaign conducted by a Portuguese bank institution.
The campaign itself involved reaching out to clients through phone calls, with the goal of convincing them to consider making a term deposit with the bank. Each call resulted in one of two outcomes: "no," indicating the client did not make a deposit, or "yes," indicating the client accepted the offer and made a deposit.
**The Purpose and Impact**
The essence of this project was to harness the power of data to predict whether a client, upon receiving a call, would accept the offer to make a term deposit. By analyzing the information about the clients and their responses, we aimed to provide valuable insights that could enhance the effectiveness of future marketing campaigns.
