In a January 2024 study, the Chief Executive Group found that 60% of CEOs said their top priority is retaining and engaging employees. That starts with creating a culture that respects and validates their ideas, efforts and contributions every day. Creating that culture only happens when senior leaders champion and role model those behaviors! #retention #engagement #leadership #culture #rolemodel

Is it surprising that CEOs' top priority this year is recruiting and training employees? Not really, if the avalanche of articles is anything to go by. Engagement and job satisfaction levels continue to be low, and ultimately this is down to business leaders. As this article rightly points out: "Leaders can’t delegate the authority or the responsibility of culture creation to others. Senior leaders must champion this change by defining their ideal culture and then aligning players, plans and actions to that ideal culture." The message to CEOs is that they must make their workplace one that workers enjoy and believe in. It's simple in theory but takes hard work to pull off: https://bit.ly/49UEyn1 #Leadership #Entrepreneur #Wellbeing #Recruitment

WHEN A SECOND OPINION IS NEEDED Retention and engagement are top priorities within organizations. Good news … my colleague, Ben-Jamin Toy and I have been guiding leaders independently and collectively for over multiple decades on how to keep their employees and foster greater success with engagement. This article may be just the second opinion leaders need to call on the team that makes this objective their number 1 priority. Three takeaways from the article: 1) Retaining and engaging employees begins with leadership practices from the top. 2) With 30% of workers self-identifying themselves as engaged, there is a lot of work to do. 3) Although the article doesn’t specify the same terms that we use, the author was clearly pointing to activities consistent with our approach of infusing cohesion into the culture to attain performance and engagement. Cohesion is a causal phenomenon and a better predictor of engagement than correlating it to happiness and satisfaction. Thank you Beth Beutler, CTA (Helping Others Pursue Excellence) for the nod to read this article. #cohesionculture #cohesiveleader #leadership #drtroyhall

🌟 Elevating Leadership: Making Informed Promotion Decisions for Sustainable Growth! 🚀💼 The impact of promotion decisions reverberates across an organization, influencing morale, culture, and employee engagement. It's pivotal to recognize the significance of these choices and the potential ripple effect they can have. Promotions are pivotal moments, not just for the individual promoted but for the entire team. A wrong promotion decision can indeed create discontent and disillusionment among the workforce, potentially leading to a loss of talent and productivity. However, by emphasizing a strategic approach to promotions, organizations can foster an environment of growth and empowerment. Here's how: 1. Competency-Based Evaluations: Ensure promotions are based on merit, skills, and demonstrated competencies rather than solely on seniority or favoritism. 2. Leadership Development: Invest in leadership training and mentorship programs to prepare potential candidates for higher roles, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and qualities. 3. Transparent Communication: Foster open communication about promotion criteria and decisions, ensuring transparency and understanding among all employees. 4. Feedback Mechanisms: Establish feedback mechanisms to collect input from team members, ensuring a holistic evaluation of potential candidates. 5. Continuous Evaluation: Regularly review promotion strategies, assessing their impact on employee satisfaction and retention. 🌟 "Great leaders don't set out to be a leader... they set out to make a difference. It's never about the role, it's always about the goal." - Lisa Haisha 🌟 Let's collaborate to create a culture where promotion decisions are thoughtful, transparent, and aligned with organizational goals. By fostering an environment where merit is valued, we can inspire growth, engagement, and success for both individuals and the company. Agree?
