I'm curious what research led to whole-plant, dust-collecting pre-rolls and near-expiring edibles being the industry standard of a loyalty reward. 🤔 Are more mature #cannabis markets handling retail loyalty programs better than Michigan? In 2024, why can't we have discounts or rewards based on our specific purchase habits? You've gone through the trouble of collecting our information and it's at your fingertips. You can see what we're buying. It feels lazy and a little insulting that "free something is better than nothing", especially when the input material of your cookie-cutter offering is subpar. Stop pushing on to the consumer what the producer or your location can't move by traditional means. For the consumer who may not already be aware, check your harvest and expiration dates on your giveaways, incentives, and especially 4/20 freebies if shopping on that day is your jam. How many #skus is good for a #dispensarymenu ?? #cannabisretailers I’m asking you 👀 One of the biggest issues I see going into dispensaries is the menus are often way too large, like a diner menu that gives many anxiety. 😅 The issue with a Jersey-diner sized menu in a #dispensary is, similar to food, we are dealing with #perishablegoods ... Flower and hash are best when you get them after their freshly cured at the appropriate climate, not after they’ve sat on a 70 degree vault shelf for 3-6 months (and especially not after 8-12 months). 🥵 I saw it happen in Oregon and I’ll see it happen here. The old ego contest of “we’re gona gonna have the most skus of any dispo” never works out well. Product sits on the shelf for too long, and the customers you want to have in your store, notice regardless of what upper management (who may not even smoke) might think. One guy in Oregon at Front Ave Meds wanted to be the first with 100 strains on the menu. He was so happy when he hit 100, I wonder if he noticed 60 of the jars were #oxidized like crazy (he didn’t smoke). Anyways, he promptly was out of business 2 months later. 🥸🫡 That’s why we love finding #retailpartners who “get it”, like our new partners Michael Ortoll & Blake M.
