I had the honor of sharing lunch with Harry Strachan in Costa Rica last year. I think in terms of business models and values. Mr. Strachan has had a global reach and impact far greater than I could ask for, but I was surprised by his humility and vision for impact. From being a Harvard graduate and professor, founding the Latin American HBS satellite program INCAE, to founding BAIN Capital and Mesoamérica, to starting multiple foundations that drive economic impact in Latam, I saw a model that I could follow. I also saw a faith journey that I related to, but that's a subject for another decade. https://lnkd.in/eNNzFN2u

For Faith-driven investors, it's important to rally around what we stand FOR, not simply what we are AGAINST. We are grateful for and celebrate the thoughtful, patient collaboration on display with this recent launch of the Christian Impact Framework Project. At at time when our world, and the church, seems more polarized than ever, it brings together diverse viewpoints from across denominations to help investors become increasingly intentional as they deploy capital for positive influence. 4 Reflections from 3 Days: The NIRI: The Association for Investor Relations National Conference Is A Wrap 1. Embracing a Transformative Future: Elevating IR is a compelling call to action, urging us to envision a transformative future. Speakers highlighted how the rapid pace of changes necessitate a shift in our approach. beyond traditional frameworks and embrace forward-thinking strategies that pave the way for the Elevated IRO. 2. The Power of New Thinking: Everyone I talked to emphasized the critical importance of new and different thinking in creating and elevating value. The discussions underscored the need for creativity and bold ideas that can spark transformative capabilities that can redefine our industry. 3: Questioning the Status Quo: At a time of accelerating and complex change, it’s clear that some of our longstanding practices, products, models and approaches are no longer valuable. By letting go of outdated paradigms, products or capabilities, we can make room for new, more effective work that better address the demands of our rapidly evolving world and of the Elevated IRO. 4. A Constellation of New Talent: It is always exciting to welcome new or newish members to our community and learn from them, what are they seeing, etc. Happy to have met and learned from many of them. The highlight for me was the NIRI 40 Under 40. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to nominate 5 colleagues, who were selected, that year, as a 40 under 40. There is nothing more important than supporting the next generation of leaders and I appreciated the opportunity to meet some of those in attendance. Onward to Boston!

At Inventures 2024, we were joined by Carol Wildcat of Ermineskin Cree Nation and Lynn Smith of Peavine Metis Settlement to discuss building trust between Indigenous nations and institutions. The discussion moved from taking a personalized approach to Indigenous community engagement, fostering long-term and mutually beneficial relationships, and how fruitful partnerships between institutions and nations can help create a better, more sustainable future. At NAIT, we respect the individuality of Indigenous communities and ensure that we walk beside them to help them achieve their training and applied research goals. A few weeks ago, we hosted our 2023 AGM to celebrate this year's acheivements and to share our reflections and next steps. We have done and learned a lot in just 365 days, and we're on a transformational journey. IONS is reimagining how we can more effectively act as a connector, leader, and steward of the Community Impact Sector. We know that the status quo is not serving us and that we need to help model the change that’s needed. We have made bold transitions in how we operate and be in community together. We’re excited about the journey we’re on and we’re encouraged by the responses we've received from the sector. We are committed to listening, learning, and advocating for the sector.
