Clinical Community Partnerships to Support Behavioral Health for Service Members, Veterans, and their Families Date: July 30, 2024 Time: 1:00—2:30 p.m. ET Clinical community partners can work together to support the behavioral health needs of service members, Veterans, and their families. You will hear from Federal and community-based speakers on the following topics: The Veterans Comprehensive Prevention, Access to Care, and Treatment (COMPACT) Act of 2020: The COMPACT Act supports the implementation of a new U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) policy that provides access to free emergency suicide care for Veterans in non-VA care settings. The goal of the COMPACT Act is to reduce Veteran suicide by guaranteeing no-cost care in times of crisis. Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) services for Veterans: CCBHCs are funded to bring comprehensive community-based mental health and substance use treatment services to individuals in communities. The statutory criteria require CCBHCs to provide nine core services, including community-based behavioral health care and recovery support for Veterans and certain members of the U.S. Armed Forces. CCBHC/VA Care Coordination: Care coordination is a critical element of services for CCBHCs. You will hear about how one CCBHC in Texas has partnered with its local VA medical center, supporting collaborative behavioral health interventions for Veterans in the community.
Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Clinical Community Partnerships to Support Behavioral Health in Service Members, Veterans and their Families. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

Founder & CEO, Coding Clarified ⚕ Let us Clarify Coding for You, Affordable Online Medical Coding Training Program
How CPT® codes support innovative models for behavioral health care The integration of behavioral and physical health care has long been identified as one of the more effective solutions to increasing timely, equitable access to treatment for many mental health conditions, and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT® ) codes play a fundamental role in facilitating the delivery of care. On Tuesday, July 16, learn how CPT codes can help health care organizations overcome obstacles to delivering accessible and equitable treatment for their patients’ behavioral, mental and physical health needs. Gain real-world insights from a virtual behavioral health medical group using the CPT code set to enhance access to evidence-based behavioral health treatment, particularly within high-value care arrangements, as detailed in the American Medical Association’s (AMA’s) Future of Health series of case studies. Join Leslie Prellwitz, director of CPT Content Management and Development at the American Medical Association and Virna Little, PsyD, co-founder and special advisor at Concert Health, to: Enhance your understanding of CPT codes that can be used (as deemed medically appropriate) when administering behavioral health screening, treatment and/or preventative services. Gain insights from Concert Health’s integration of virtual services within primary care settings to enable adoption of the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM). Understand how CPT codes are working within Concert Health’s CoCM efforts to help physicians and patients overcome barriers to care.

Exciting news! Our research team, led by Dr. Ambrose Wong, MD, MSEd, MHS Wong, has secured a $6.9 million research grant from Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to pioneer the groundbreaking study “Peer Support Enhanced Behavioral Crisis Response Teams in the Emergency Department”. One of the key highlights of this project is use of “Peer Service within ED workforce for patients presenting with mental illness”. These Peers are individuals with lived experience of mental illness, who are currently in recovery. Peers will be trained to deliver trauma informed care to patients experiencing any form of psychiatric distress, or agitation in the #ED. This multidisciplinary collaboration involving DEM experts, community partners, and state agencies, will answer important questions about comparative effectiveness of peer services in #mentalhealth emergencies. Comparing the current typical care to the Peer guided approach, with the goal of reducing restraint usage, enhancing the #patientexperience, and minimizing ED return visits. https://lnkd.in/e6geSBGS

Founder @ Ai Data House | Helping Businesses through Advanced AI and Data Solutions
5dLeveraging health IT can generate valuable data insights, allowing for better understanding of patient needs and potentially leading to more targeted treatment approaches. AI algorithms can analyze a patient's medical history, social determinants of health, and behavioral data to personalize treatment plans, tailoring interventions to address individual needs. AI-powered tools can analyze data to identify early signs of potential mental health issues or substance use problems, allowing for preventative interventions before symptoms become severe. The integration of AI within the Innovations in Behavioral Health model has immense potential. By carefully considering the ethical and practical aspects, AI can become a valuable tool for enhancing the quality of care and improving patient outcomes.
