Well, this was a big year… Our mission at ZOE is to improve the health of millions and in 2023, we took huge leaps towards achieving it. We grew our headcount from 205 to over 425 and doubled our number of active ZOE members from 50,000 to over 100,000. Our growing team worked hard to improve the ZOE experience including the introduction of AI to make food logging easier and the launch of highly requested gut health retesting. After 800,000 ZOE muffins we said goodbye and introduced our test cookies which not only taste better but are vegan too, making personalised nutrition available for even more people. We shared more about the science that drives us, publishing 16 pieces of groundbreaking research, including our discovery of 100 new gut bacteria and our first ever randomised controlled trial, METHOD to prove that ZOE works. Our podcast, ZOE Science & Nutrition, hit the number one spot in the UK, amassed over 15 million downloads and became the most widely shared show on Apple Podcasts in 2023. The best part is that this only the beginning. We can’t wait to see what’s coming for ZOE in 2024, thanks for being on this journey with us and happy new year! 💛

“Our mission at ZOE is to improve the health of millions and in 2023, we took huge leaps towards achieving it” How? Employed more people ❌ Better tasting cookies 😂 Shared “groundbreaking” research 🤦🏻♂️ More pod listeners 🫣 Random trial❓ I see no proof that ZOE works or that “millions” have reaped the benefits, just a dangerous non-regulated brand campaign. It’s amazing what you can pull off with a little bit of bunse from a dragon… a victory for the squares perhaps ✌🏽

See below an article that will make ZOE advocates think more about the possibilities of personalised nutrition plans. It’s written from the perspective of 2035 looking at the growth of personalised nutrition plans, the impact on national health, associated economic impact, GDP, supermarket, restaurant and smart fridges all connected to personalised apps. Anyone who asks me how I’ve lost weight either glazes over at the mention of ZOE or is very open to hearing more about ZOE. But this article which name checks ZOE really helps to outline the possibilities of personalised nutrition and AI to our future wellbeing and collective improved health. Enjoy. https://www.economist.com/what-if/2021/07/03/what-if-everyones-nutrition-was-personalised

You certainly were a huge influence on my health in 2023. In the last 3 months i have easily lost 10kg in weight, changed my diet for the better (as well as saving money!). Certainly had my return on the investment. Thank you!
