Former and Current Founder Who Helps Startups with Almost Everything

The three absolutely critical qualities that cofounders need to have. 1) Alignment of Values You need to be in it for the same reasons with the same morals. If you work with someone that you trust to do the right things, you will sleep better at night and have way less stress. 2) Alignment on Product Vision This applies to technical founders, nontechnical founders, and everyone in between. The product and early stage MVPs need to be agreed to upon before, during, and after building it. Friction and disagreement can help build better products but it’s absolutely essential that the vision is aligned. 3) Ability to Step Up Cofounders who can take time off and have the other cofounders step and vice versa is critical. I’m fortunate enough to have Robert McIntosh who definitely as all three and much more. What else would you add to this list?

Empathy for the relationship itself, empathy for the mission/vision being clear, and empathy for the clients/partners. Empathy as we all know isn't sympathy. The best co-founder always has your back even if it means being brutally honest. As it is with you and Rob, same for me with Shweta Agrawal and Jason Kraus.

Building a startup requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Cofounders should share a strong work ethic.
