Just a feel good share :) My Recent Trip to NVIDIA HQ!! Long before When I was with Intel(may be 2015-2016), a part of my team was working from remote location. Being a data center management Team, there was a constant need for having a look at the hardware, but still the best performers in my team were all remote. I remember one specific day, we were working on fixing our development environment and my manager/mentor mentioned the following. "If you guys need help with remote access tools/efficiency guidelines, you should check with those guys at remote". By then, I almost ignored that comment, since i was sitting right next to the hardware anyway, all day long, everyday of the week. Fast forward to 2023, right after I was hired into NVIDIA, I have been architecting test procedures for most complicated systems, but all from remote. Of course, my career journey helped me get there, but also, the evolution of remote enabling tools have grown exponentially!!. If I were to at least guess this 5 years back, I would have bet all my money on remote access enabling companies :P . Regardless, I got to go on a trip to HQ for a week and it felt great to see/feel systems again with my eyes/hand. And of course, the names on my phone-book, that I work with on daily basis, now have a whole new personality that I can feel comfortable with as friends and at the same time feel proud to share workspace with great engineers in them. I can go on and on about how they named the HQ buildings as Endeavor/Voyager long before NVIDIA became world leader, their journey which started in one building and now that's the smallest of their buildings in almost 50x landscape!!, and much more.
