They call Sharon Fekete 🏗 The Doctor Whisperer because she knows doctors better than they know themselves. We spill ALL the tea about how doctors are getting beat up and burned out by the business of medicine. Listen in on our conversation, even if just for a couple minutes. You won't regret it. Check out a video snippet from our conversation in the comments 👇 #podcast #podcasting
Tune in on Monday, 11/13/22, for a rerun of The Doctor Whisperer Show featuring, Principal at Rocky Mountain Physician Agency, Ethan Nkana, J.D., MBA. ▪︎ ▪︎ ▪︎ ︎ ︎ABOUT OUR GUEST: Professional athletes spend their entire lives training to develop their skills and strength in mastery of their sport at the highest professional levels. Similarly, physicians train their entire lives developing a mastery of the sciences and medicine. Why don’t physicians have agents who negotiate their deals like professional athletes? This inquiry was the genesis of Rocky Mountain Physician Agency. After more than one decade in hospital and healthcare administration, specializing in physician contracting and compensation, Ethan recognized that his skills, training, and expertise could be put to more meaningful use negotiating physician contracts on behalf of physicians. The extensive experience Ethan has in physician contracting is founded on a doctorate degree in law from the University of Dayton School of Law. While completing his legal training, Ethan earned his master’s of business administration, also from the University of Dayton. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration & Public Relations from Southern Adventist University. ▪︎ ▪︎ ▪︎ Thank you to our sponsor, Valley Bank, for supporting the show! #businessofmedicine #valleybank

We all know the credentialing process for Healthcare professionals is heavily demanding, often requiring 35 to 40 pieces of documentation, with framework clinicians needing even more. This poses a significant administrative burden for compliance teams, particularly those in rapid growth phases. It can also be frustrating for those busy clinicians juggling this process alongside working numerous shifts throughout the week. Check out how Merco overcame these challenges by automating this process: https://lnkd.in/eD-ftMWy

Big article in today’s WSJ’s on how hospital mergers over the last decade have dramatically increased the cost of healthcare for all. A few key highlights: 1. $1 out of every $3 goes to hospital systems 2. The days of independent doctors are over. 3 out of every 4 doctors either work for a corporation or a hospital system 3. Historically, moving services from inpatient to free standing facilities has been used to reduce cost for employers. However, hospitals are now buying surgical centers and provider groups, eliminating this option 4. The FTC is underfunded and has not been successful in challenging recent hospital mergers. For employers, this means that in order to keep healthcare costs contained, it may be time to revisit narrow networks or alternative sites of care . https://lnkd.in/ebtetizd
