And just like that nominations are closed for the ACG Awards! Our group of esteemed colleagues on the awards committee met last week to review the record-breaking number of nominations to determine the finalists for the awards. Needless to say, it was an amazing year in the National Capital region in terms of corporate growth and M&A! Sponsors of the awards and the nominees are invited to join us to reveal the finalists at our reception on May 16th - https://lnkd.in/eVc3fsPS And tables are still available at the awards show on June 6th - join us! https://lnkd.in/e9_GaFMK Next, I would like to express my gratitude to our awards committee for all of their hard work to make this awards program one of the best! And last, but not least, a special shout out to my co-chair, Jennifer Wappaus, CEPA, CFP®, as well as our ACG team, Nicole Brophy and Claire Sutton, for bearing through the endless amounts of meetings, emails, calls and texts to make it all possible - thank you!

Entering business awards is a great way for Australian businesses to showcase their achievements, gain recognition for their hard work, and promote their business. However, it's important to be aware that the award submission process can be very time-consuming. This is because there's more to entering awards than simply writing a submission. At this time of year, we especially seem to see awards ceremonies being held left, right, and centre, both Regionally and Nationally. So, is it worth you entering a business award and why do you see so many firms doing so? Surely there's only so many you can win? It has been for us without doubt, whether as finalists or lucky enough to win. Managing Director at Creative Therapy Adelaide | Music Therapist | Chairperson, SA Branch, Australian Music Therapy Association
Ever get skeptical when your business is nominated for an "award"? It's a scenario I've been in a number of times now. You receive a nomination, but in order to accept the nomination and the award, you have to attend a lavish, high-priced awards event. I've learnt to take a closer look 🧐 The last nomination I queried about, I asked for more information about the category we were nominated for. After many days, they came back with... "special needs" 🤷♀️ Then I asked what the nomination process was and if they could provide me with any information about who nominated us and I got *crickets* 🦗 They literally never responded. Do you ever wonder about the legitimacy of these nominations? How do you evaluate the cost versus the potential benefits of attending such award events? Have you developed strategies for distinguishing between credible awards and profit-driven ventures? Would love to hear your thoughts 😇 #BusinessAwards #BusinessInsights #Curious

Quick question: who here enters awards for themselves or their business? Being nominated or winning is always a positive for the company and individuals involved but have awards now gone too far? Financial barriers to entry, expensive tickets to overly lavish ceremonies if you’re nominated and sometimes less than transparent judging criteria. I feel like there’s an award for everything now-a-days and awards are big business themselves. Interested to see what people’s opinions are. 👎 Too many awards, they've lost all meaning 👍A really important part of an industries ecosystem that celebrates good work?

Award applications can help boost your business. As time passes, many of us go about running our businesses without sparing a moment to reflect on how we got here. Therefore, awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our achievements, however large or small. Many people have never considered it because they just got on with their jobs and thought awards were for others - but once they finally did apply and received that recognition, it gave them a huge confidence boost. Linsey Hardy elaborates on how awards can help your business in Niche Magazine. https://lnkd.in/dy7GWcsD #ThoughtLeaders #AwardSchemes #BusinessRecognition

Creative Director @ Bettermade Design | Get clear, consistent branding that boosts recognition and drives growth. Your SaaS Brand, Bettermade.
Small but mighty: why we enter awards no matter the size. ↓ Are you hesitant to submit your work for awards because you think they are only for the big players? Think again. Even if it's a local or small-scale competition, entering awards can be a game-changer for your business. Not only can it boost your brand's visibility and credibility. But it can also help you stand out from the competition. It's a chance to celebrate your hard work. And to showcase your talents to a wider audience. Let me tell you about my amazing business partner, Jolene Chang. She's the definition of humble and never boasts about her wins. But I just have to give her a shoutout! Jolene, girl, you're the brains behind our operation. And your hard work has really paid off. Couldn't have done it without you! *sniff* Keep inspiring us all! 💪🌟 Don't let the size of the award intimidate you. See how even the smallest award can make a big difference. P.S. Have you ever thought about the impact of awards on your small business? Check out our interview: https://lnkd.in/gnABUk5c
