The Western Sydney International Airport Taking Off Program has launched for 2024! ✈ The program engages first nations students from local schools, and provides them with the opportunity to learn more about job opportunities at WSI through a cultural lens. Last week's launch saw students make first nations themed bracelets, learn about song lines while finding out more about future job opportunities at WSI - and they even got to fly a drone!    Equipping our first nations young people with the skills for the future is an important part of WSI's Reconciliation Action Plan - and as Peter says, programs like this ARE reconciliation. In future months, students will spend time across the project with our partners including Seymour Whyte, BMD Group, Multiplex, ACCIONA AU & NZ, CPB Contractors and Bechtel Corporation to learn about the construction and aviation industries - and continue to engage in their culture. Honored to be part of the stakeholder dialogue on Public-Private Development Partnerships for Skills Development, Job Creation and Industrialization on 11 August 2023 at the UNIDO Country Office. The objective of the dialogue is to understand better the challenges, gaps, and barriers in relation to skills development and job creation in the country; determine the strategic economic sectors and sub-sectors to prioritize; identify opportunities for public-private partnership; and discuss possible mechanisms to continue the discourse and collaboration.
