Who are shaping my thoughts in 2024? There are many on LI but let me make this list short of those whom I am secret admirers of. They are truly servant leaders who I want to be influenced by filling my mind with their wisdom. As Tanya Pluckrose wrote today about “Think and Grow Rich”, yes I want to be rich financially but also I want fill my soul with wealth of the mind. These earth angels 😇 clearly can help you if you follow and learn from them. Tanya Pluckrose helps me to fully open up to a paradigm shift, which empowers me to be the CEO and chairman of the boardroom of my mind. Joe Murphy helps me with career development and I’m not in corporate anymore. Don’t matter, I’m building my own corporation and he is a master teacher of personal success. Robin Yoo helps me to understand it takes courageous mindset to be an entrepreneur. He teaches the importance of networking, building relationships, and handling challenges in work and life. He is a master networker and his integrity is unquestionable. Sam Neo helps me to understand personal and organizational branding. Like Robin, I love Sam’s entrepreneurial mindset and his passion for work, family, and life. Sam is someone, if I could turn back time, who I want to be like. He lives a great life in serving others while making family his highest priority. This is very hard to do, but you see how he does it as he is humble in sharing his story. Hayden Humphrey helps me to think outside of box. Hayden is a lot, I mean, a lot younger than I am, but he has more wisdom on his pinky than I will ever have 🤣. His insights and wisdom about work and life are so different and unorthodox but I agree with so much of what he says. You have to read his posts to know what I mean. He’s truly a young man ahead of his time. All of you are shaping my thoughts with your amazing posts. You are truly the #digiwiseowls I respect wholeheartedly. I am so grateful beyond words. Heck, there will be an unbelievable personal turnaround because of your impact in my life. Never too late even for someone old like me who is also looking to extend his services from the heart to others. We are all here together to make this world a better place. Many know what they dislike, but not many know what they like and what drives them in life. How, then, do you know what you are passionate about? Here are some questions that will help you: 1. What are the three words that describe you? 2. What are the things you enjoy doing, without getting paid, for long hours? 3. What are the three things in life that frustrate you? 4. What are some talents that people say you have? 5. What is your perfect world like? When you are able to answer the above questions truthfully, your next step is to link your answers together. I left a comfortable engineering job to pursue the life of a speaker and trainer. The first 4 years I lived on love and fresh air (no money because I didn’t know how to run a business). But eventually, business grew and I delivered keynotes on large stages and started to worked with senior leaders. After a while, I published a book that people from over 40 countries read. Do not fall into the trap of pursuing someone else's dream. I hope that you will make a conscious decision to identify what you are passionate about and go for it (It might mean you live on live and fresh air for a while as well). What’s your passion? The most powerful resource we all have, but don’t tap into often enough. Asking a question. When was the last time you asked yourself a question and listened for the answer? Questions open up possibilities. Human beings have many more internal resources than we know, and by tapping into those resources within, we learn, we grow, and we change. One of the topics I’m passionate about is self-leadership. I’m so dedicated to it, that it’s part of my mission to help empower business owners and leaders to firstly, lead themselves, then to become more of who they are, so they can create success for themselves in all areas of life. I’ve recently started a new kind of AM/PM journalling practice that I wanted to share with you, because it’s so powerful at creating self-awareness; one of the most important skills for developing self-leadership and a strong sense of self. Self-awareness refers to understanding who you are, what your goals are, what your strengths are and areas where you can improve. So, if you’re just as passionate about self improvement as I am (or curious about it), try it out! Here are 3 questions to ask yourself in the AM: 1. What does my Self need to feel today? 2. What does my Soul need me to know today? 3. What Strategic actions will I take in my business today? And 3 questions to ask yourself in the PM: 1. What am I proud of today? 2. What did I learn about myself / my work today? 3. What am I grateful for today? Try this for a week and let me know what happens! Business growth and personal growth go together like peanut butter and jelly. If you want to grow your business, you’ll need to also grow yourself. One of the reasons why I love my job is because I get to meet and work with amazing leaders across all industries.. Recently, an incredibly successful woman who I look up to and who has paved her way in business recommended this book to me. It shared some great insights. Here are the top lessons I've taken away: -Align Your Work with Your Ambitions. Ask yourself- does your work lead to a place that will satisfy your ambitions and help you make the difference you want to make in the world? -Claim Your Achievements You can't expect others to know what you're up to unless you tell them. Own your successes and let the world know about your accomplishments. Stop expecting others to spontaneously notice and reward your contributions! -Speak Up Speaking up about what you want doesn’t make you self-centered or self-serving. It signals to others that you are ready for your next step. A closed mouth never gets fed! -Always Have Your Elevator Pitch Ready Be prepared to market yourself. You should convey what you do now, but emphasize what you aspire to do in the future. -Develop Value-Based Relationships Focus on creating win-win situations on both sides. A lot of us focus on building rather than building & leveraging relationships...This has actually been my personal goal for the year & I am so excited for the partnerships that have come out of it, or are yet to come from this simple tip. A few women have asked me lately to validate my results or to prove that I am who I "act like" on social media. I mean.... I get it. 🙄🙄 There are a lot of wack, lying, flaky, and phony people in deez streets. BUT! I've been in the game way too long and have gotten too many RESULTS to even consider telling people who I AM. Arrogant? Maybe. Lol! 😀 Confident? ABSOLUTELY!! I was Googleable long before y'all saw me on LinkedIn. Translating my RESULTS from military leaders to corporate leaders was a mountain of insurmountable obstacles. That's why I went to Harvard Business School. It was hard and it's taken 10 years for similar fruit to bear. Whew! Hallelujah! All this to say, before you consider working with a coach, do your research. If they don't have the RESULTS they promise, i.e., testimonials about their RESULTS, then don't invest your money. I will give you a blank stare before I justify how great I am (it's crass). Ain't nobody got time for that. Happy Sunday Y'all!! 😀😀 P.S. A fascinating Tuesday   I recently started a fascinating ride by reading the book “14 Steps to Develop Your Mindset” by Tiwaworks. I've had a few "wow" moments that I want to share with you. Here are the major lines that got me excited.  - Persistence is crucial for achieving monetary success. - Combining willpower with desire creates an unstoppable force. - Successful individuals like Ford, Carnegie, and Oprah Winfrey exemplify persistence. - Resilience and determination are essential qualities for significant success. - Lack of persistence is a common cause of failure. - Overcoming a lack of persistence depends on the intensity of one's desire. - Desire is the starting point for all achievements.
