In 5 years, I moved 7 times between 3 different countries.
I was climbing the career ladder. Every move would bring me closer to my corporate career goal, so I was up for the challenge.
Those years were full of new work and cultural experiences, wonderful colleagues, and career opportunities. But every 6-12 months, I had to start over in a new city with new colleagues and no friends.
It started as a very lonely journey until… I started volunteering.
Volunteering at local nonprofits became a way for me to meet people and find friends outside work, learn, and give back to the community I was fortunate to be in for a short period. I planted olive trees, mentored kids, and helped prepare meals.
As a foreigner and an “outsider,” volunteering helped me feel like I belonged as a part of the community.
In 2020, COVID forced me to think about my life priorities and what I want to do.
I knew I wanted to make a meaningful impact. But I didn’t know what that was until I came across Giveffect. It was a dream come true with:
✅ Combining my love for nonprofits & building community with my passion for tech & efficiency
✅ Helping people be more efficient and human-centered
✅ Supporting not one but many nonprofits at the same time
With my volunteering, I saw many #nonprofits that struggled to solve and advocate for specific issues due to lack of funding, volunteers, human capital, the list can go on and on. Back then, all I could do to help was give my time.
Now, I have the technology, experience, and an amazing team to support nonprofits in reaching their #fundraising, #volunteering, and #engagement goals.
I didn’t choose my path when I went to college. I didn’t know what it was in my 20s.
It literally took me traveling and working across the globe, going through COVID, and some luck in finding Giveffect to realize what impact I want to make.

2wNice job at the town hall, Ken and Sally. To your question: I actively support organizations that serve children of under-resourced communities, cancer research, and mental health, organizations like "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County and Rise Against Suicide. And when I was recently in Chicago, I was introduced to a wonderful organization called Cheeriodicals | Team Building That Matters, for which I and our P6 volunteer team packed gift boxes for patients at the local UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO COMER CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL.
