It's the end of an era here as we wave goodbye to one of our longest standing members eXmoor Pharma, who have grown from a team of seven to more than 70 while based here! 👏 Last month we awarded them the Lifetime Achievement Award at our annual birthday bash. At the time our manager Tom El-Shawk said: "Since joining us in 2016, [eXmoor] have been an active and dedicated member of our community. Through their perseverance, they have weathered the challenges of the pandemic, raised millions, and made significant contributions to the regional economy. We applaud their remarkable journey." Here's a few of their highlights: 💥 Founded in 2004 by Angela Osborne as a consultancy, with a team of four carrying out advisory services and concept design of manufacturing for biopharmaceuticals. 💥In 2005 cell and gene therapy (to treat disease) were in their infancy, and so the team refashioned and brought in new skillsets to enable them to follow this new market. 💥In 2016 the decision was made to move from advisory services into full process development. This meant getting premises and laboratories for the first time at Future Space - Bristol. 💥In May 2023 they completed a $35 million Series A round to launch eXmoor’s Cell and Gene Therapy Centre, a 65,000 sq ft GMP manufacturing facility, purpose-built to develop and manufacture autologous and allogeneic cell therapies, as well as viral vectors. "This will complete eXmoor’s transition from consultancy to one-stop global cell and gene therapy partner," the team writes. They have been wonderful to work with and we can't wait to see where they go next.
