Additionally, you should be as familiar with the market value of your positions' salary as well as industry standards for your benefits.

Small Business Benefits Advisor | Follower of Christ | Solving Problems with Custom Tailored Solutions
If you are a group of less than 10 employees, how do you get started with offering group benefits? 1. Start with what you can. Some of the best benefits you can offer don’t cost a lot of money or any. 2. Review your PTO policies, money isn’t the only thing people care about. 3. Think through an intentional budget that you are willing to contribute to a benefits plan. It doesn’t have to be huge but it has to be intentional. The answer can’t be: the least amount of money as possible. 4. Look at your HR policies and internal communication. These can be major annoyances that can be resolved with some effort and intentionality. Good people will absolutely leave over these. 5. Be excellent in the small things. You don’t have the funds to make up for a bad work environment with money (like a Fortune 500 company). This means you neee to be enjoyable to work for and with. As a small company your people are your lifeblood. Don’t forget that they will make or break your company. Treat them the best you can.

Helping small to mid-size employers structure a benefits program that fits their budget and that their employees appreciate.
Small employers need "benefit love" too. 😁 Many benefit consultants only work with the "big fish" and so we frequently get asked why we also work with smaller employers. That's easy for me to answer and it falls under 5 different benefit categories that most smaller employers need and that we do well: * They need an agency that provides year round benefits service support to keep their benefits program running smoothly. * They need an agency that provides the benefits expertise as well as dedicated time to research viable benefit solutions for their organization. * They need an agency that is patient with them and answer (often times) the same questions multiple times while they learn all things benefits. * They need an agency that holds their hands through any benefits compliance obligations they must fulfill. * They need an agency that provides the benefits education to their employees so their employees best know how to use their coverage. At Lone Star Benefits, Inc., we pride ourselves in delivering an "over-the-top" service experience to mid-size and smaller clients alike. While larger employers have HR departments to handle benefits administration, compliance and employee education, smaller employers often don't have the resources or bandwidth. That's where we come in. We believe that by working with smaller employers too, we're making a real difference in their day-to-day benefits operation, and that's what keeps me and my team motivated to keep serving our clients the way we do. ❤️
