The journey of NIYOU, a startup born from within an Entrepreneurship class at Creighton University's Heider College of Business, exemplifies innovation and collaboration. Two students, who had never worked together, joined forces due to their complementary skills. Just one year after their initial 60-day startup sprint, they had the chance to showcase their venture at the Big East startup competition. A special shoutout to Lance Frazier for encouraging them to participate. Their entry video is nothing short of remarkable—I'm confident they're on the path to victory. The team's early members, Valery Shafack and Matthew Mandolfo, set a high bar, which was only raised with the strategic addition of Samuel Perkinson. "There's something in the water!" At Munster High School, a grant that gave Principles of Entrepreneurship students the chance to create their own board game and market it led to ideas like "Shark Bite," created by students Galilea and Rediet. In this game, students place stickers on the board before the game begins. Land on a life preserver ring and advance two spaces. Land on a shark: shark bite! "I wanted the students to be able to create something from inception to fruition that they could actually prototype and market," MHS teacher Eric Sera said. "Rather than create a hypothetical business plan for something they might create one day, the students gained an immersive, hands-on experience that allowed them to go through the full and actual entrepreneurial process."
