Hire Erica today!
I recently found myself among the talented individuals impacted by the Netlify layoffs. While this marks the end of a chapter, I'm thrilled about the new possibilities ahead and eager to bring my expertise to a new team. As a Senior Software Engineer with over a decade of experience, I specialize in building robust microservices using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and Go. In my most recent role, I developed a cutting-edge SDK and supporting CLI build tools in JavaScript/TypeScript, with a Go backend service. This SDK was pivotal in extending the Netlify platform, allowing developers to customize and streamline their workflows effortlessly. It empowered teams to build custom API integrations with standardized tooling, significantly accelerating their time to innovation. Though my career started in full-stack development, I've gravitated towards backend roles, particularly in API and integrations. Throughout my career, I have excelled in start-up environments, contributing to companies from Series A to Series D across diverse industries such as developer tooling, fintech, biotech, and HR. I am adept at building both monolithic and microservice architectures, confidently delivering reliable and stable software. My expertise spans rapidly iterating MVPs to validate product-market fit as well as developing long-term, robust solutions that support production environments. I am passionate about creating sustainable software solutions and have delivered numerous talks on the benefits of edge computing for enhancing application performance while reducing carbon footprints. My speaking engagements have taken me across America, Europe, and Australia, where I've shared insights and inspired audiences on the future of sustainable technology using edge compute. I am enthusiastic about exploring opportunities with remote-friendly companies that value innovation and are looking for a senior engineer to help drive their product development. I am particularly interested in organizations working in the climate tech space, though I am open to any exciting and impactful projects. If you are looking for a dedicated, versatile, and experienced software engineer who is not afraid to dive into unfamiliar territories and deliver exceptional results, let's connect!

I was honored to be a guest speaker for CS Ed Week for the students at Vine St Elementary School through the 9 Dots organization. Watching them demo their programs was the highlight of the day! Staying connected to students and their learning is what keeps me grounded in tech, despite no longer being in the classroom. Thank you to 9 Dots and Vine St Elementary for the opportunity!
Computer Science Education Week is an exciting time for 9 Dots and our coders. We strive to make our coders feel empowered, inspired, and motivated to learn Computer Science by working with guest speakers like these amazing individuals. A special thank you to Taylor Daugherty, Sylvia Cecilia Aguiñaga, Kim Merino, Oscar Vanegas, Janet Barrientos, Lyndsey Lustig, Marco Salazar de Leon, and all the other incredible guest speakers who shared their CS experiences with our students. #csforall #csedweek #computerscience #education
