Exciting developments unfold in the realm of electric vehicles as ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) marches toward the completion of its flagship initiative, the Izera SUV. The company's President Piotr Zaremba shares insightful updates, confirming that the Izera project's completion currently stands at 39% based on internal standards aligned with the industry's NPDS utilized by Geely and Volvo. A milestone achievement for the project is the finalized design prototype of Izera SUV, a synergistic outcome of collaboration with Pininfarina. With technical and functional specifications now confirmed and set in stone, EMP's focus shifts towards optimizing the manufacturing process and initiating the homologation process. As preparations for the factory in Jaworzno gain momentum, with a building site acquired and a call for final offers for its construction underway, the anticipation for production grows. Regulatory approvals are expected by the end of December, setting the stage for groundbreaking in Q1 2024 and a projected operational factory by Q4 2025, leading to the Izera's production commencement in 2026. The BMW Group is reportedly building a brand new battery logistics center around its Leipzig plant in Germany, aiming to strengthen its electronic component manufacturing and battery supply capabilities. The new project, which covers a total area of 12 hectares, is initially scheduled to occupy 8 hectares, with the first phase of construction expected to be completed by mid-2024. BMW will invest about $108 million (roughly Rs. 787 million) in this project. Located in Leipzig, the plant is one of the pioneers of the BMW Group, which has a lot of experience in the field of electric vehicles, according to ITBEAR Tech Info. Since 2009, this plant has produced more than 200,000 BMW i3 electric cars, and the establishment of this new battery logistics center will support the production of more electric cars in the future. Petra Peterhanel, Head of BMW Plant Leipzig, said, "BMW Plant Leipzig will continue to be a leader. We have been contributing to the BMW Group's electrification strategy and are now more than just a producer of the i3 - with the growth in the production of electronic components and the upcoming launch of the MINI COUNTRYMAN, we are moving into a broader future." According to the BMW Group's plans, they will launch 25 electric vehicles in 2023, 12 of which will be purely electric. In addition, BMW also plans to be carbon neutral globally by 2025 and aims to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2030. Milan Nedarkovsky, Member of the Production Management Board of the BMW Group, said, "We are fully committed to our electrification strategy and are investing in the future to this end. The new battery logistics center will strengthen our ability to respond quickly to customer needs and increase production flexibility.
