Up At The O2 FIt List Challenge 🌟 Today, Sally and I embarked on an incredible journey to climb the O2, all for the sake of Brain Tumour Research. Did you know that brain tumours are the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children and adults under 40? It's a staggering statistic, but together, we can make a difference! 🧠 As a mother living with an inoperable, yet stable brain tumour, it has become my mission to raise awareness for all brain tumour charities across the UK. With every step I take, I hope to inspire others to join the fight against this devastating disease. 🌈 I've decided to challenge myself regularly with what I like to call a FIT list. Instead of a bucket list, I choose to say, "F*** it, let's do it!" And today, the O2 climb was one of those daring adventures. Let me tell you, it was a lot easier than I anticipated. It felt like walking up a steep bouncy castle, except I was safely strapped in. Thank goodness for that, because my legs were like jelly when we first took off! I can proudly say that I've conquered the O2! But this climb was about so much more than just reaching the summit. It was about raising awareness, spreading hope, and showing the world that together, we can make a difference. 🙏 I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Whether it's through donations, sharing my story, or simply cheering me on, your support means the world to me. Let's continue to raise awareness, fund research, and offer hope to those affected by brain tumours. 🎗️ Join me on this mission, and together, let's bring an end to this devastating disease. No one should face it alone. Together, we are making a difference. 💪💙 Together we will find a cure See the link in my bio to help sponsor my climb up the O2 today #BrainTumourResearch #ClimbForACause #FItListChallenges #RaisingAwareness https://lnkd.in/eyccBq_z

The American Red Cross is facing blood inventory challenges as a result of post-COVID, staffing limitations, continued blood drive cancellations, and decreased donor turnout. As a result, too often, we hear that treating physicians have to make difficult decisions between who can receive a blood product and who will have to wait. We want to serve our patients better than this because every life counts. Despite our tireless efforts to reverse this trend, we continue to face a national shortage. When the American Red Cross is experiencing a severe blood shortage, teams work around the clock to meet the extraordinary blood needs of hospitals and patients. What can YOU do to help? Donate Blood or Platelets: Make an appointment to donate blood or platelets today. You can easily schedule your donation by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit www. redcrossblood.org, or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). The life you save may be your own! Please schedule an appointment today! Thank you from the American Red Cross.

Master Healthcare Business & Client Development Leader Experienced Working in Innovative & Disruptor Companies Achieving Growth Goals Thru Sourcing & Closing New Business Including Developing & Experimenting New Markets
Long Island Is Entering A Blood Emergency as of This Afternoon. What is a blood emergency? It means that there is only enough blood to cover area hospitals for 3 DAYS. This trend will continue throughout the summer when more blood is needed, not less. Introducing the Pint for Life first annual blood drive. In conjunction with a local networking group, I will be hosting the Pint for Life First annual blood drive on June 21st starting at 8am. The location is 25 Melville Park Dr, Melville, NY. We are looking to get 100 pints donated that day. To register go to https://lnkd.in/eANciWgf Before you say you can’t, because of past rules, please note that the rules to donate blood have dramatically changed in the last 6 months. For more information contact NY Blood Center at 1800-688-0900 to find out if you can. In addition, we will be offering businesses an opportunity to sponsor a table for a $50 donation and to have their logo’s flashing throughout the event for $20 to raise funds for a local charity. I could use your assistance to make this a big success: 1. If you are based on Long Island or will be in the area, please join us in donating blood, getting your colleagues to participate, tell associations you belong to, and business associates to participate as well. If you can’t donate blood, come join in for the networking. 2. We could use local press coverage from Newsday and Channel 12 if you know anyone you can introduce me to. 3. I’m looking for local restaurants that may want to provide “match the pint” drink or food vouchers. 4. Looking for a local representative to come down and support our drive. Please DM me if you can help with the above items, want to sponsor a table, and or have your logo displayed.

FRIDAY FUNNY…… <blood donor centre> Triage: do you know your blood type? Priest: A pos Pastor: B neg Rabbit: I think I’m a type O Jokes aside, today is World Blood Donor Day. You may have read in the news last week that NHSBT is currently crying out for Type O donors, thanks to a cyberattack. I spent several years working in procurement for NHSBT in the early stages of my career and consequently saw first-hand the struggles it faces to recruit new donors and keep up with demand. Most of what we hear about blood donation is very much tip-of-the-iceberg; there's a phenomenal amount of backstage work that goes on to ensure the NHS receives this critical service. It's now a cause I follow as though it were gospel. A few facts for you... 🅾 is the most common type (48% of donors). O-neg is particularly important as any other type can receive it, and consequently it's prioritised for emergencies. 🆎 is the rarest type, making up just 3%. 🅰 single donation can save up to three lives. 🅱 lood donations have a shelf life of 35 days, meaning stocks need to be constantly replenished. 🅱 ank holidays are particular pinch-points in NHSBT's calendar, when stocks tend to drop. Check you're eligible to donate: https://lnkd.in/exWrTaT4 Sign up to donate or book an appointment: https://lnkd.in/eagj_PfY It's probably the most important thing you'll do today. And it won't hurt. #WorldBloodDonorDay #BloodDonation #SaveLives

🇸🇮 News from around the world In the latest edition of Global Perspectives, Teja Iskra, HAE Slovenia, proudly tells us that the HAE Slovenia Patient Association is now officially founded: "After years of struggle and struggle, my family once again helped me so that I could fulfill my dreams. Finally, I can proudly say that the HAE Slovenia Patient Association was officially founded. I’m proud that I finally made it. And now the real work begins. First and foremost, the association will try to recruit members, of course, with the help of the medical staff and Dr. Zidarn, who provide me with maximum help in all these matters. Membership acquisition is currently underway. We are also in the phase of obtaining donations for the operation of the association. In this way, we will be able to provide printed educational and promotional material. The goal is to deliver this material to emergency centers across Slovenia so that our patients will no longer have unpleasant situations, something that each of us has certainly encountered. For now, I will not reveal future goals and wishes because, first of all, I would like to see these things implemented."
