🌈 Celebrating PRIDE with a Rainbow of Treats 🌈 Our LanzaTech family celebrated PRIDE month with a bake sale organized by BLEND, LanzaTech’s DEI group. Our talented team baked a colorful spread of treats, ranging from drool-worthy cakes to melt-in-your-mouth cookies 🍪🎂. The bake sale raised $1800 for the Trevor Project, the leading organization for suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ+ youth. If you'd like to support this worthy cause, follow this link: https://lnkd.in/gX2wAZan A massive thanks to the entire BLEND team (Vicki Liu | Maya Van Lysebettens | Christina Piasecki | Shivani Garg | Saurabh Parikh | Sarah Ye | Sydney Preston | Anneliese M. Charity Leader | LGBTQ+ Activist | Social Mobility Advocate | Health & Wellbeing Campaigner | Autistic & Proud
⭐️This is what a charity CEO looks like ⭐️ To be a leader of a small-medium sized charity you have to keep it real, think big and remain grounded by the communities you serve. This weekend, I rolled up my sleeves to support St Helens Pride and Sefton Pride (Southport) 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✊ These two events wonderfully celebrated our LGBTQ+ community - creating a much-needed grassroots alternative to larger Pride festivals. They also provided a platform for charities like Sahir House to authentically challenge stigma and discrimination whilst promoting our vital front-line LGBTQ+ services. Today, I’m back in the office, penning business cases, mulling over finances and prepping for back-to-back meetings this afternoon. I don’t know if I’ll ever used to the fact that I’m the figurehead of my organisation. Me - a gay working-class lad with autism (and generalised anxiety disorder) - leading a charity! 🤯😊 But perhaps it’s about time we do more to challenge the idea of what a CEO should look, act and sound like. I want to do what I can to encourage folks who aspire to leadership to feel confident that, whatever their background, they can not only achieve their career goals but break new ground, and thrive. #leadership #ceo #thoughtleadership #inclusion #diversity #proud #community #charity #charitysector

Pride remains essential as it serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for LGBTQIA+ equality. If someone in your life asks why is #Pride still necessary: ➡ In 2023, the ACLU tracked 510 proposed anti-LGBTQ+ bills in the U.S, with 80+ passing into law ➡ On a national level, LGBTQIA+ youth are 13x more likely to experience homelessness than their straight peers due to community and family rejection, discrimination, and violence ➡ Since 2013, Human Rights Campaign has recorded the deaths of 335 transgender and gender non-conforming victims of fatal violence. In the last 12 months, 90% of victims identified as BIPOC. 🏳️🌈 Help Us Empower LGBTQIA+ Youth This Pride Month by donating in support of LGBTQIA+ youth because WE NEED PRIDE! 🏳️🌈 Donate: https://shorturl.at/WB22T

Happy Pride Month! Did you know we celebrate Pride month in June as June 28th marks the date in history when the first pride march was held in New York City in 1970. As a local business which supports equality in our local business community, we thought of some easy ways in which you can celebrate #pridemonth at your workplace: 1. Create a collaborative Pride playlist. Celebrate Pride by encouraging employees to create a collaborative playlist. This Pride playlist should feature music from LGBTQ+ artists, songs about self-love, self-acceptance, and celebrating diversity. Coming together through music can be a fun way to celebrate pop culture, honor artistic expression, and find a new favorite song. 2. Raise funds for a charitable cause. Even today, members of the LGBT+ community face discrimination. Raising funds for local LGBT+ charities is a fantastic way to help combat this and work to a society which is founded upon equality. 3. Coordinate a Pride Month book club Reading a book written by a queer author, featuring LGBTQ+ characters, or topics, can be a fun way to expand perspectives. Not only is this an educational opportunity, it’s also a bonding opportunity as it gives coworkers a chance to interact with each other outside of their established roles. #cloudtelephony #telecommunications #telecoms #PridePlaylist #CelebrateDiversity #LGBTQ+Artists #SelfLove #SelfAcceptance #CharitableCause #Equality #LGBT+Charities #PrideMonthBookClub #ReadForEquality #EducationandEmpowerment #PrideCelebration #InclusivityatWork #WorkplaceEquality #LoveisLove #PrideParade #RainbowFlags #SupportLGBTQ+Community #AcceptanceandTolerance #LGBTQ+HistoryMonth #ProudAllYearRound #Equalityforall

On Day 2 of the 12 Days of Giving, we reflect on how crucial your support has been for #LGBTQ+ youth, many of whom experience pervasive school bullying and rejection. Our CAST (Coping and Support Training) program assists youth in four skill areas: Building Self-Esteem, Setting Goals and Monitoring Decision Making, Personal Control: managing moods, drug use and school smarts. With your thoughtful donation today, we can work towards a future where LGBTQ+ youth can access a safe and bully-free learning environment in every #LehighValley school. The future starts today with your donation at https://lnkd.in/gJUy3rNg Hashtags: #LGBTQ #LehighValley #12DaysofGiving #nonprofit #donate #giveback #givingback #community #fundraising #giving #donations #makeadifference #DonateForChange #communityunity #supportLGBTQ #communitysupport [Image description: “Celebrating Queer Joy” sits top center, the text underlined with the colors of the Progressive Pride flag. Trust is the bedrock of transformative philanthropy. Quick, flexible funding from a trusted funder can be a lifeline for women and LGBTQ+ movements and activists who face direct threats to their safety and well-being. When we trust frontline feminist activists to identify their own priorities and respond with flexible, holistic funding they can use it to mobilize quickly to address urgent threats and strengthen feminist movements for long-term change. This approach is inherently feminist. It elevates the voices, lived experiences, and self-determination of those traditionally disempowered by philanthropic institutions. It redistributes agency, resources, and authority to communities spearheading movements for justice, equity, and liberation. For feminist movements, trust-based philanthropy: ✨Devolves decision-making to movement leaders ✨Replaces restrictions with transparency ✨Prioritizes shared vision over top-down mandates To explore trust-based philanthropy further, watch The Chorus We Carry now. https://lnkd.in/eBqWbEVs

Today is last GIVE OUT DAY by Horizons Foundation, the only national giving event for the LGBTQ community. Did you know that according to Funders for LGBTQ Issues, for every $100 awarded by U.S. foundations in 2021, only 28 cents specifically supported LGBTQ communities and issues. This is just one reason why organizations like inclusion tennessee are reliant on gifts and donations from people like you to help sustain our work. Pride Month is coming very soon, and as we close out Older Americans Month this month, we are raising much needed funds for our Studio Fifty programming for LGBTQ+ older adults in Middle Tennessee. We know that health and wellbeing, economic security, and social connections are among the cornerstones for successful aging, yet these are areas in which many LGBTQ+ older adults face substantial barriers—stemming from current discrimination as well as the accumulation of a lifetime of legal and structural discrimination, social stigma, and isolation. Despite these challenges, many LGBTQ+ elders have survived and even thrived, while others struggle with the burdens of poverty and social isolation. The programs at inclusion tennessee in partnership with Fifty Forward are dedicated to addressing the social isolation, stigma and structural discrimination faced by this growing population throughout Middle Tennessee. Your support today during #GIVEOUTDAY will help us build on our programming planned for the remainder of 2024. We are currently looking to raise $3,000 before midnight tonight. Would you be willing to help us with a contribution to continue to expand this work? https://lnkd.in/eBf-PhDP

Wishing our Montash, Remobi and Trillion communities a very Happy Pride Month. 🏳️🌈 Here are a few ways you can demonstrate your support during Pride Month and beyond: ❤️ Showcase LGBTQIA+ stories and voices- giving members opportunities to speak for themselves and represent their authentic experiences. 🧡 Share the ways your company is fighting for inclusivity and equality: such as raising donations for LGBTQIA+ charities, volunteering, equality policies and advocating for legislative change. 💛 Empower your employees with resources that educate and celebrate Pride and the wider community. 💚 Create and instigate conversations. Understand the issues. Allies are most supportive when they truly understand the issues that affect the LGBTQIA+ community. 💜 Partner with LGBTQIA+ organisations or influencers both during Pride Month and throughout the year. Pride should not be exclusive to June but an initiative throughout the year. Make it a year-round commitment & ensure your LGBTQIA+ employees feel valued, supported, and included every step of the way. 💪 #PrideMonth #HappyPride #LGBTQ #Community

MPEP is excited to announce we will be working with the Maine Council on Aging for the third consecutive year on its annual summit. This year, we're breaking down barriers and building bridges by taking the series on the road, making it more accessible than ever for diverse communities across Maine. MCOA was Julie’s first nonprofit client after venturing out to start her own business. “My world of thinking has broadened tremendously by working with the MCOA team,” stated owner, Julie Guerette. “From the moment we are born, we are all aging, but the BIPOC and LGBTQ + communities have even greater challenges as they age. The MCOA has continuously set out to change the messaging around aging, stating that aging is not something to be negative about and asking how we can create a better world view around aging.” This year's Change AGEnt Series promises to be even more impactful, reaching new audiences in different corners of the state. Through a series of engaging workshops, panel discussions, and community events, the series will: -Empower older adults: Provide resources and tools to navigate the aging process with confidence and autonomy. -Challenge stereotypes: Spark conversations about ageism and its harmful effects on individuals and communities. -Celebrate diversity: Amplify the voices and experiences of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ older adults, fostering inclusivity and understanding. Build bridges: Connect generations and promote intergenerational understanding through shared experiences and dialogue. Want to be part of this groundbreaking initiative? Whether you're a community organization, a business sponsor, or simply passionate about creating a more inclusive Maine, we invite you to join us! If you or your business would like to be involved, please contact Julie at contact@mainepremiereventplanning.com. #nonprofitevents #maineeventplanner #donorcentric #eventplanning #nonprofitfundraising #donorcentricfundraising #maineassociationofnonprofits #fundraisingevents #mcoa #mainecouncilonaging #changeagentseries *The image was created by Marshal Dunn at the 2023 Change AGEnt Summit.
