It got me thinking: did a stack of survey sheets prompt this change? Seconds later, my mind was a battleground: does "new and improved" trump "old and loved"? Almost instantly, memories of the infamous 'New Coke' incident bubbled up. I left the jam on the shelf, headed home, and turned the camera on instead. 3 key insights. It's not a SADC-trotting adventure, but rather an innovative strategy that's shaping the way we shop and save. Imagine this: ⭐ a strategy where the retailer not only promotes individual products but also rewards combined purchases. It's about creating value through bundles and paving the way for customer-focused experiences.⭐ The Impact: These sallies have the potential to skyrocket sales, enhance customer loyalty, and make shopping a delightful journey. But as with any strategy, there's more beneath the surface. Pros: They prevent overstocks, boost marketing efforts, and even save money for end-users. Retailers benefit from increased sales penetration and customers get a cost-effective deal. Cons: Yet, there are potential downsides. Overemphasizing the combo might overshadow individual products. Did you know that people who commit daily micro-acts of joy experience about a 25% increase in emotional wellbeing over the course of a week? #thebigjoyproject This week, I interviewed Lisa W. Miller, author of The Business of Joy. She shared insights from her 2024 Survey: Customer Pain Points and the top reasons shoppers are frustrated. She builds a strong case for why businesses, in a time of high prices, should consider investing in training their employees to give customers a joyful experience, which adds value to what they are getting. In addition, she points out specifically what opportunity the grocery industry has to give their shoppers a great in-store experience as delivery is currently a point of frustration (Wegmans Food Markets is a great example of a grocer doing this very well!). Insights Alert from Accelerant Research 📢 We conducted an Ad Test of Kroger's “Magic happens when we bring new traditions to the table” with 250 American consumers to gauge their reactions and opinions. Here’s what we uncovered: 🎯 Brand Recall: 50% of respondents recognized the brand being advertised. 👍 Likability: More than half (71%) expressed a positive response to the ad. 📺 Engagement: 71% mentioned they'd probably watch the ad in its entirety if aired on TV. 🛍️ Intent: Over half (66%) displayed a likelihood to purchase or use the product/service.
