Hi Lego employees! Unfortunately this great pic is only AI. Is it possible for a real Lego Company to create something like that? A lot of adult people will be pleased.

Let's talk about defying expectations and absolutely smashing that pesky Dream Gap. I'm a huge fan of the Mattel Dream Big campaign, which highlights the importance of empowering girls to chase their dreams. And guess what? That message applies just as much to us as women over 50!
Here's the thing: society often throws stereotypes at us like confetti at a party.
It's time to rewrite the narrative.
We are capable, we are driven, and we are forces to be reckoned with. Watch this space for some serious inspiration on how to conquer your goals, regardless of age. #DreamGap#ThisAge#WomenWhoLead
Happy International Women’s Day!
Today is a global day for celebrating women’s achievements and to reinforce a commitment to women’s equality.
I was so delighted when my client asked me to run a Lego® Serious Play® workshop for International Women’s Day.
The official theme for #iwd2024 decided by the United Nations this year is invest in women : accelerate progress.
My client’s organisation wanted to raise awareness for a challenge they were experiencing with the lack of women applying for regional projects in a predominantly male domain….construction.
They got key stakeholders in the room, mostly men, to understand what they thought was key to attracting female applicants for their regional projects.
With 12 participants, 3 Lego kits and two hours, we worked through a process to generate insights and ideas they had not previously considered and were keen to explore further.
My client wanted to surprise the participants. They didn’t know there would be Lego involved when they were invited to a brainstorming session.
The delight on their faces when they walked in the room was like watching kids in a lolly shop.
My client told me afterwards the energy it generated in the office was palpable and everyone wanted to know more about this Lego® Serious Play® technique.
Talks are underway to hold a day long workshop and another later in the year for International Men’s Day on November 19.
Why do LEGO® Serious Play®?
It's a different way of thinking.
It’s a collaborative and visual method to explore complex problems.
It’s fun.
It’s interactive.
It’s colourful and joyful.
It's a great team building exercise.
It helps to generate ideas visually and fast.
It gets to the heart of the problem quickly.
It taps into a way we learnt to explore the world as kids, using our hands.
Introverts get their voice heard.
It helps teams to communicate in a more meaningful way.
It evens up the playing field as everybody gets to participate and voice their thoughts.
It is a different way of thinking that has been laying dormant since we were kids.
It provides the ability to explore a problem deeply without investing a lot of time.
It allows complex problems to be explored visually so everyone can understand the contribution and thinking of others.
It is the perfect tool for solving complex problems where there is no one right answer.
If you are looking for a different way to engage the brains in your organisation, message me for a no obligation discussion.

What can we learn from Barbie’s remarkable rebranding strategy (no spoilers)?
Mattel showed us how to truly transform their best-selling brand. They fearlessly allowed the brilliant director, Greta Gerwig, to address uncomfortable aspects of Barbie, such as female stereotypes, aesthetic standards, and unsustainable capitalism. We can only imagine how many meetings it took before granting Greta the creative freedom she needed. It’s a bold storytelling approach that breaks barriers and speaks volumes.
Even Greta herself expressed surprise in an interview, acknowledging Mattel’s permission for the production to proceed.
This audacity to challenge patriarchal norms, gender inequality, and aesthetic standards is truly transformative.
If you’re looking to rebrand your business authentically, be bold and embrace your full story, acknowledging past mistakes to rewrite your statement. Adding a touch of humor and a splash of color can help customers embrace your new position and connect with your message more openly.

Have you been called Crazy, Delusional, or Irrational as a women professional asking for equity, equal opportunity, or dreaming unhinged? The Nike 'Dream Crazier' advertisement tells you 'You aren't alone!'.
Taking the Oscars by storm in 2019, 'Dream Crazier' has returned to the charts in the run for the Olympics Paris 2024. Highlighting various female athletes who are challenging socio-cultural and athletic barriers, 'Dream Crazier' showcases the double bind that women athletes go through:
🙅♀️Displays of emotion labeling them as ‘dramatic’
🙅♀️Anger or passion being associated with 'hysteria'
🙅♀️Delusion when asking for pay, opportunity, and recognition parity.
The virality of the brand campaign. 'Show them what crazy can do', embodies how feminist ideas can be embodied and disseminated through online popular media forms.
So what can we learn from Nike about responsible advertising especially to push the envelope for women's representation in male-dominated industries, including sports?
💁♀️ Gender Intersectionality: The ad campaign talks about black athletes, hijabi athletes, athletes with disabilities, athletes with caregiving responsibilities, etc. emphasizing how women athletes as a demography is not homogeneous and why intersectionality is crucial to the gender equality debate.
💁♀️Reclaim 'Crazy': The most powerful punch of the campaign is 'show them what crazy can do'. Herein, the campaign embodies empowerment and doesn't reduce women athletes to helplessness. It makes 'being crazy' an ambition to look forward to.
💁♀️Justaposition of the ad with the Socio-Cultural fabric: The timing of the Dream Crazier ad amidst the #MeToo movement, the global campaign against the gender pay gap, and growing advocacy against sexism in sports, issues largely unnoticed by the mainstream media, positions Dream Crazier as transformative.
Do you agree? Tell me in the comments

After letting many colleagues build this week during multiple LEGO Serious Play Workshops, here is my own build for International Women's Day...!
From left to right...
Let's stop restraining women. Start to see the value diversity brings, and share positive thoughts of the sparkle women bring. Let's recognize women, and help them grow. Let's make sure we truly see their contributions, recognize them and care for each other. Let's target to make pay more equal. And finally, with more female role models at the steering wheel, making board rooms more balanced, diversity will drive companies to true success!!!
WHAT ELSE DO YOU SEE OR MISS IN THIS MODEL...?
Happy International Women's Day!
Two words come to mind today - thanks and choices
Thanks to all the women who inspired me to act, appreciate kindness, sharpen my mind, and made me realize a different perspective. I extend my warmest recognition of their invaluable contributions. Thank you for inspiring me to be a better person.
Choices to inspire inclusion come in many forms , a few ideas to consider today as you think about this special day.
We at Logitech, aspire to design a tech environment where all people have their voices amplified is a step toward truly embracing the contributions that women bring to the workplace and empowering them to flourish in their rightful positions as leaders and mentors of successful organizations. We invested in several innovations to do exactly that. Our RightSound technology in our video products not only zero in on whoever is speaking, but use an advanced speech detector algorithm that autoboosts the volume of quieter talkers to account for variations in speech volumes and gender specific tones. RightLight autocorrects challenging lighting conditions to make all skin tones appear natural. RightSight autoframing makes sure that whoever is speaking is framed and centered, so that all ideas and contributions can be spotlighted. Our gaming team under the leadership of Ujesh Desai has been building bespoke gaming experiences for women gamers. Our personal workspace solutions team led by Delphine Donné have inspired inclusion in our products and experiences - even making an ergonomic mouse that fits all hands. Do Check out Ujesh's post (https://lnkd.in/g39mdUUR) on celebrating women in esports and racing. I am so pleased to see a major achievement ; Bianca Bustamante, the first woman driver to join McLaren’s Driver Development Programme and represent McLaren in the F1 Academy. We at Logitech also co-founded the Coalition for Gender Fair Procurement (https://www.genderfair.com). Quite simply we require a gender fair assessment from all suppliers and aspire to spend fairer. A standard to advance gender equality by leveraging the power of corporate procurement. I want to thank Rebecca Eby for leading this forward for us. Under the leadership of Kirsty Russell we enabled our D&I values. We built communities such as #womenwhomaster and #girlswhocode.
Why did we do all this? Because with the right choices we can together ensure every voice is heard, and women at the workplace can flourish.
We've come a long way since the beginning of my career. As the father of two amazing daughters and husband of an incredible woman in tech - I know there's still much more progress to be made and I hope today inspires more inclusion.
Happy International Women's Day!

Liz’s Desk Bonus Entry…
One of the things I really enjoy in my travels and work is when the industries and communities I support intersect.
While attending the Power of Cohorts breakout session at the Women in Manufacturing Summit, the panel used the power of storytelling and a Pixar short film (Purl) to perfectly illustrate the challenges that women and other underrepresented groups face in the tech sector. Fostering a workplace that thrives and supports its people requires empathy and intentionality. In a ballroom full of women, there was a lot of relatable head nodding as Purl’s story unfolded. I’ve seen the film several times, I know how it ends. Do you? If not, you should check it out.
So how do we amplify and elevate ourselves collectively in our various industries? By listening to each other’s stories and forming cohorts to serve as safe spaces for us to explore strategies for growth and change.
It doesn’t matter if you’re in the automotive, pharmaceutical, defense, aerospace, high tech, food and beverage, or themed entertainment industries. Many of the challenges we face (as women, as BIPOC, or members of the LGBTQ+ community) are the same across the board. Our needs, our challenges, and our stories intersect a lot more than you think.
Remember, you’re not alone because you got a friend (and ally) in me. ❤️

No industry can dispute the role played by women in its success. Because it will result in a more diverse workforce in terms of thinking, ideas, and decision-making processes, it is essential that there be a gender balance in staff.
The role of women in the animation industry is crucial. Even if the animation industry is reaching new heights of success and has made great strides in recent years, the imbalance of women in the sector remains problematic and difficult to ignore.
The industry is full of creative women, and we have to make a strenuous effort to work with female talent, thus supporting them to develop their unique talent, voices, and experiences in the creative industry. Hornbill Studios promotes women's talent development, career advancement, and top positions.
There are many excellent women in the industry, and we must make a concerted effort to support them as they cultivate their unique skills, perspectives, and experiences in the creative industry. They continue to serve as role models for women of today, and young animators continue to draw inspiration from their methods.
Hornbill Studios is recognizing all the female animators' talents on this Women's Equality Day. We strongly believe in giving both men and women equal opportunity, and we have achieved substantial fame in the animation sector. #WomensEqualityDay#EqualOpportunities
Diversity in Design?
Diversity in design goes beyond appearances - it’s about blending skills, backgrounds, and personal experiences.
Historically, our industry lacked representation, but times are changing.
Here’s why diversity matters:
Unique Perspectives
Imagine a 20-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman of color, and a 40-year-old with a hearing impairment facing the same problem.
Their solutions will differ, enriching creativity.
Diverse Teams, Unique Innovations
When we bring complementary skills and varied frames of mind together, we create innovative solutions.
It’s like blending colors on a canvas.
Inclusive Experiences
More diverse design teams build products that resonate with broader audiences.
An app for the LGBTQIA community, for instance, needs diverse insights to truly serve its users.
Remember, diversity isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the secret sauce that fuels creativity and impact! 🚀
