This week, as we kick off the celebration of #PrideMonth, Luminate honors the LGBTQ+ music makers whose unwavering dedication to their craft continues to shape the musical landscape and empower queer voices. Year over year, we see queer representation in the music industry increasing. In 2021, there were 35 solo artists ranked in the Top 1,000 who self-identified as LGBTQ+; so far in 2024, that number has increased to 39. Consumption of these artists similarly increased, from 17.9M units in 2021 to 20.8M units in 2023. At the genre level, Pop, R&B/Hip-Hop and Rock lead the way in queer representation, with the majority of these queer artists performing in one of those genres. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eGEb6E3i

America is at a critical juncture when it comes to LGBTQ safety and support. At GLAAD, we know that fair and accurate representation in media and journalism have a powerful and measurable effect on the lives of LGBTQ people. While support for LGBTQ equality has reached an all-time high, allyship must turn into action. This June, media, content creators, and corporate leaders must lead and respond to hate with undeterred support for the LGBTQ community, including LGBTQ employees, shareholders and consumers and protect all that the LGBTQ movement has accomplished. https://lnkd.in/eZt3ccS6

Can't wait to get this book! Will be very interesting to read.
LGBTQ Denver by Phil Nash, to be released by Arcadia Publishing on April 22, 2024, is a pictorial history documenting the development of Denver's LGBTQ community, primarily from the 1970s forward. Featuring nearly 200 images curated from historical archives, organizations, amateur and professional photographers, and the author's own collection, LGBTQ Denver tells a visual story about a midsize Western city's evolution from its repressed and closeted past to its status today as one of the most LGBTQ-friendly cities in North America.

Proud to have attended UNISON National Delegate Conference last week and voted to support LGBTQ+ rights, Black rights, Palestine, Ukraine, a four day working week and putting further pressure to end public service cuts! And of course to keep fighting for a just transition to net-zero. Joining a union is a key way of evening the scales of power between employers and workers. Its funny how the developed world describes the under developed world publicly in main stream media and social media by criticizing our views on moral conduct regarding LGBTQ. What's natural to us has now become a hot topic and an agenda for many news agencies and entertainment industries to sabotage our very own logical way of thinking (ideology). Remember, we have values; Religious, traditional or political. They create an ideology based on the fact that human rights ; "equality" has to make everyone free of choice and will in developed nations and expect us to accept unrealistic and unnatural laws to protect certain groups based on their (manipulative choices). The real need for human rights remain with developing nations when we need the rights from freedom from oppression and many other basic human right we lack. "WE DONT NEED ANY OF THEIR DESRUCTIVE IDEOLOGY." To accept the LGBTQ or other destructive concept against our ideology, they have to manipulate. This can be done in the form entertainment; movies, music, books, magazines, social media chat group etc. Also, sporting events and political or recently, religious pressure can also help them spread their manipulative ideology. To convince the mind into thinking what is WRONG is right, or a human right, they make us forget our values , traditions, religious and political beliefs. It is important we keep our standards high and encourage the younger generations to keep away from their manipulation in the highest degree...

Disney has gone so far left its no longer a kids or family oriented organization but a corporate bully trying to force people into ther demonic ideologies. Thank you Elon for stand up to them. This is one method that USA 🇺🇸 uses to try to influence African nations to support LGBTQ movement. please we respect your choices don't force the world your ideology and then call us primitives when we don't want to.
