When I ask the question, "what do you know about thinking", most people look back at me with confusion. It is not within the general realm of expertise and that is the reason that some problems persist. We have the gift of human experience and that allows us to see in modes, Real, Imagined, Past, Present,Future. Amongst other things this allows us to live our ideas and bring them to fruition. Some ideas, however much we crave them, are inconsistent with reality. That does not mean we always realise that is the case, which is where the education on thinking is key. You can identify with any idea. You just have to remember there can be a difference between "your reality", and "the reality".
Set your intention and, if it is pure, watch the world part ways for it “I want you to pattern your lives after me, just as I pattern mine after Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 (no followers, just connect freely)
“Children learning that they can be anything under the rainbow they want to be.” British barrister Anna Loutfi explains how organisations such as Stonewall and members of the LGBT lobby in the UK push trans ideology to British schoolchildren.

Forced “outing” is a hostile act that can cause severe emotional and psychological harm to student(s). If/when forced “outing” is conducted, it is a blatant misuse of power and emotional and psychological abuse. A school district engaging in such behavior is a violation of even the most basic of human rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. It is unfathomable that educational and community leaders would even hypthothesize abusing their power in this way. #standtogether #humanrights #studentsfirst #StudentSupport #StudentRights #SuicideRisk #EdPolicy #EdLeaders

It seems to me that librarians are always addressing symptoms of American cultural illness, which will always be an uphill battle trying to turn back all the macro and micro attacks on thinking. Especially reflecting on the June 27 presidential "debate", I see the nation needs us in office creating good laws and deconstructing bad laws. We are information experts with a constituency who trusts us. Please consider running for office, networking and championing peers in other districts. We can cure societal ills by being honorable law makers and budget funders. I know you are doing great work currently, but would you consider entering national politics? A Congress full of librarians could truly improve the country and our world, while being inherently resistant to misinformation.
NEW: At the height of Pride Month, several members of Congress are seeking to strip away discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ library workers & students. Tell Congress not to roll back protections: https://lnkd.in/gSGPn5VT We will NOT be silent. ALA stands firm against this proposed roll back. Discrimination protections affirm what we know is true: all are welcome in America's libraries, during Pride Month and year round.
