Jacqueline Houtekier, a graduate of the LCD Practicum, went on to create a book club at her local ATD chapter. We want to give her a big THANK YOU for spreading the model! On LinkedIn, she says: One of the best things you can do for your career is to be adaptable and change the way you approach creating learning experiences for those around you. Adopting the Learning Cluster Design methodology has been such a stretch assignment for me as a seasoned L&D professional, but has also increased the access to learning opportunities for our staff at Deere Employees Credit Union! I look forward to helping others discover the advantages of this methodology and discuss how it can solve current learning challenges. We've had folks promoted just at the moment they learned the model. Coincidence? We think not. When you get a new competency that is not technical but strategic, that sets you apart real fast. Especially in the learning field. Why? Because traditionally, we don't have a strategic competency in our toolkit! We have ways to build one specific course or class or training stakeholders ask us for. We don't have a way to challenge stakeholders and the organization to align learning better to the organization. Until now - the Learning Cluster Design model, since 2015, has helped organizations around the world become strategic business partners. Get the word like Jacqueline did and then spread it! Upskill in the model today. We have async DIY and live Done With You courses to help you deliver a learning cluster and learn the model at the same time! MBA Graduate 🔺 Learner for life 🔺 Homo Deus 🔺Dreamer 🔺Highly Empathic Person 🔺 Pluviophile 🔺Digital Transformation Enthusiast 🔺Digital Health advocate 🔺Systems Thinker 🔺 Hilton Humanitarian Prize Scholar
I'm so excited to share that I've completed the #CornellUniversity #SystemsThinking Certificate program 🙌 This 12 weeks virtual program, with 6 courses, has taught me so much about how to think about complex problems in a more holistic and systemic way. I'm planning to integrate the following lessons into my daily life and work: 1️⃣ #MultivalentThinking: This is the ability to see multiple perspectives on a problem. It's important to be able to see the big picture and the interconnectedness of different parts of a system. 2️⃣ #Metacognition: This is the ability to think about your own thinking. It's important to be able to reflect on your own biases and assumptions so that you can make better decisions. 3️⃣ #VMCL (Vision, Mission, Capacity, and Learning): This is a framework for thinking about complex problems. It helps you to identify the vision for a solution, the mission for achieving that vision, the capacity you need to achieve the mission, and the learning you need to acquire the capacity. 4️⃣ #DSRP (Distinctions, Systems, Relationships, and Perspective): This is another framework for thinking about complex problems. It helps you to identify the distinctions that are important to the problem, the systems that are involved, the relationships between the systems, and the perspectives that are needed to understand the problem. 5️⃣ #MindMapping: This is a visual thinking tool that can be used to brainstorm ideas, organize information, and solve problems. It's a great way to capture the complexity of a system and to see the interconnectedness of different parts. For this, the course allowed me to use this free tool for practicing: Plectica LLC I'm grateful for the opportunity to have learned from such amazing instructors and to have connected with such a supportive #eCornell community. I'm excited to continue applying what I've learned to make a positive impact wherever I am. Cornell University eCornell Matt Romkey, EdD, MBA Henry H.
