Today we honour the vital role women play in the development of AI, while acknowledging the significant challenges they face. Here are some key statistics to consider: - 4% of UK tech startup founders are women. For every £1 invested in UK startups, female founders receive 2p. - Women compose 28% of the science and engineering workforce. - Women have authored 13.8% of AI-related research papers. - 22% of global AI employees are women but less than a quarter of these women are recognised as 'AI professionals'. While the proportion of women working in AI is increasing, we hope to see a tide of female founders in this space. Shoutout to some amazing women we’ve met in the last few weeks who embody change in this critical decade for AI. Michelle Robinson from Snugg, Elaine Trimble and Molly Webb from PeerCo, Tatiana Botskina from Deriskly, Meryem Arik 🛫 from TitanML, Jenny Vega from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Nadine Myers from Gartner, Sacha Brereton and Niamh Gwatkin from FinTech Innovation Lab London , Ghela Boskovich and Sybille Mueller from Streets Consulting

Strategic Web Designer + AI Enthusiast | Exploring AI's Impact on Small Businesses & sharing my findings | Subscribe to L(ai)tte.
Emma Stone recently won an Oscar. Her acceptance speech was one of my favourites but there was one part that stood out. She shared her perspective of panicking before the ceremony over the possibility of winning the award. When her directory reminded her "It's not about you." "It's about the sum of parts coming together to make something bigger and better." That stood out to me because just last week I started a new newsletter. L(ai)tte - an AI newsletter for women in business. It aims to help them better utilise AI to save time and increase productivity. But I've been hesitating to share it widely because doubt crept in: - What if I fail at this? - What if I can't grow it? - What if everyone thinks I'm silly for even trying? - What if they see me as an imposter since I'm new to AI? I realised I was too in my head, much like Emma's recount. Because L(ai)tte isn't about me, it's about creating something that can: - Help women entrepreneurs understand AI, so they aren't left behind. - Enable them to utilise AI tools to save time and increase productivity. - Avoid feeling overwhelmed by the rapid AI advances. Like the award, it's not just about one person's efforts. It's the collective insight, tools, and support to empower women business owners. To thrive in this AI era that's here to stay. #newslettergrowth #aitools #smallbusiness #womeninbusiness

AI Entrepreneur and Advisor. Board Member. Forbes Groundbreaking Female Entrepreneur in Southeast Asia. LinkedIn Top Voice for AI.
Forbes just published the top 50 AI startups in the world. But where are the women? Only 12 companies have women cofounders, and of those, only five have a woman CEO. I have used or followed many of the 50 companies listed, but today I'd just like to focus on the ones that have awesome women as co-founders and CEOs. Because we all need role models. As a woman in AI, I certainly do! * Pika: co-founder and CEO Demi G. * insitro: founder and CEO Daphne Koller * Writer: co-founder and CEO May Habib * Rosebud AI: founder and CEO Lisha Li * Anthropic: co-founder and President Daniela Amodei * Waabi: founder and CEO Raquel Urtasun * Adept: co-founder Kelsey Szot * Kumo.AI: co-founder Hema Raghavan * Scale AI: co-founder Lucy Guo * Synthesia: co-founder Lourdes Agapito * Vannevar Labs: co-founder and President Nini Hamrick * Notion: co-founder Jessica Lam Congratulations to everyone! 🥳 Ayesha ♥️ ps. the full Forbes list is here: https://lnkd.in/eDsPVfQY #womeninAI #AI #generativeAI
