During the meeting with the US Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken, FM G. Landsbergis commemorated mass deportations of the Baltic States' compatriots, orchestrated by the Soviet Union 75 years ago. We cherish the security, safety, and prosperity that we've managed to get through the decades. 👇

In 1950, US Secretary of State Dean Acheson outlined American military commitments in eastern Asia, hoping to deter Soviet and Chinese communist expansion. What became known as the "Acheson Line" notably excluded Korea and Taiwan and, inadvertently, informed communist powers where they could expand without US resistance, leading to immediate consequences such as the Korean War and decades of communist expansion. The Acheson Line's failure to include Taiwan has led to unresolved issues, with China now seeking to reclaim the island nation under its authoritarian rule. To prevent a repeat of the Acheson Line's mistakes, the United States must adopt a long-term strategy that supports Taiwan's sovereignty and invests in its self-defense capabilities while projecting strength and maintaining a committed presence to curb China's ambitions. History has proven that a whole-of-society approach wins global conflicts. In WWII, American industry shifted from commercial goods to military equipment. As America and China battle for supremacy, the Chinese Communist Party has worked to corner certain critical industries. From Normandy’s Mont Saint Michel drop zone, Florida Congressman and Green Beret Michael Waltz (R-FL6) joined Fran Racioppi, fresh from his C-47 jump and in full WWII battle uniform, to discuss the world order, China’s efforts in shipbuilding and pharmaceuticals, NATO, immigration, reductions in Special Forces, and what to expect over the next four months in American politics. Jumping In with Representative Mike Waltz is live! Henry Kissinger, national security adviser and secretary of state under two presidents passed away peacefully at his home in Connecticut at age 100, outliving even one of his obituary writers. Kissinger was perhaps one of the most influential people in the US foreign policy establishment, during one of the most politically charged and tumultuous times in modern history. "Power", he was fond of saying, "is the ultimate aphrodisiac". I remember learning about Kissinger when I was a teen and his effect on the South East Asian region. Opinions regarding Kissinger were even more divisive than Margaret Thatcher's, proven as he was both awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and openly criticized as a war criminal. His policy of détente thawed relations with the Communists in the Soviet Union and China at the height of tensions and his shuttle diplomacy helped end the 1973 Arab-Israeli conflict in the Middle East. However, most do not forget the atrocities he had his hand in, Kissiner helped to prolong the Vietnam War and expand that conflict into neutral Cambodia; facilitated genocides in Cambodia, East Timor, and Bangladesh; accelerated civil wars in southern Africa; and supported coups and death squads throughout Latin America. Critics such as biographer Gred Grandin have claimed that he has the blood of at least 3 million people on his hands, and that veteran war crimes prosecutor Reed Brody stated that there were “few people who have had a hand in as much death and destruction, as much human suffering, in so many places around the world as Henry Kissinger.” To the fury of his critics, he remained unapologetic about his single-minded pursuit of US interests, stemming across two presidencies and numerous conflicts. The quality of the man can be summarised through one of his quotes, "A country that demands moral perfection in its foreign policy will achieve neither perfection nor security". Regardless, his influence on shaping the geopolitics of today cannot be understated and will serve to be the lessons taught in international relations into the far future. #henrykissinger #internationalrelations #history #foreignpolicy

PLEASE SHARE - UNLIMITED WAR! Everyone who have studied in a military academy knows and remembers Carl von Clausewitz and his concept of LIMITED and UNLIMITED WAR. The UNLIMITED WAR is when a state fights for its survival, if they lose the war they stop existing. The LIMITED WAR is when you choose to go to war, and if you wanted to stop the war you could. Looking at the war in Ukraine a very recent poll showed that 85% of The Ukrainians want to continue defending themselves and believe in Ukrainian victory, they are ready to fight as this is an UNLIMITED WAR for the Ukrainians - either they fight or they cease to exist. For the russians this is a LIMITED WAR, if russia wanted they could stop their invasion tomorrow and move their troops back to the UN recognized borders, and the war would end. For Europe this war began as a LIMITED WAR, European leaders tried to negotiate, tried to ensure that the war will not spread - but what we are seeing in Europe at the moment is that some European countries like The UK, The Baltic States, Poland, Denmark, The Netherlands, France, Czech Republic and others are beginning to realize that this may not "just" be a LIMITED war for Europe - It might be an UNLIMITED WAR for Europe as well, a war which we can not choose... The Ukrainians are fighting Americas War for us! We should be supporting the Ukrainians with whatever they need to win. A question that is seldom asked is: How many American Soldiers will die at the hands of the Russians if this War is not won by the Ukrainians? The second question is: What will this cost the USA in $$ if the Ukrainians fail to win? I would prefer the USA send $$ now to prevent our warriors from being deployed in the the future to fix this European Problem!

HAK & Arms Control (Leadership Styles): During the Nixon Administration Henry Kissinger (HAK on memoranda) succeeded in arms control deals where prior administrations had failed. A central reason for this was how the White House conducted the National Security policy review process and is a lesson in leadership styles over an organization with powerful personalities with diverse and strong opinions. Prior to the Nixon Administration, the Johnson Administration attempted to create a policy on chemical biological weapons. The machinations for formulating that policy were ACDA to take lead and work with State and Defense on a draft prior to submitting to the National Security Council (NSC) for decision. That process did not produce results, with Defense ignoring ACDA's arms control endeavors, contradicting State, and ultimately taking the proposed position of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) which was not part of the official policy debate. In addition, PSAC had its own independent policy endeavor. At best, McNamara sent a draft NSAM to Rusk that at a minimum stated the President's intent. A formal policy was in bureaucratic abeyance. Under the Nixon Administration, Laird made a policy on chemical biological weapons an issue for the NSC to formally take a leadership role to study. What made HAK's approach different was how the NSC disarmed the strong opinions of ACDA, PSAC, State, Defense, and JCS. The NSC study process used a Pro's and Con's approach where each stakeholder responding independently to the NSC their policy position. Through the NSC, the policy elaborated over iterations a full and complete policy covering the points of each stakeholder. Where in the prior administration the stakeholders could talk past each other, in the HAK approach each had to supply an equal amount of information on the Pro's as well as the Con's, regardless of their preferred direction. When the final policy came out, it was a multiple-choice selection for the President covering the points of all stakeholders and their expressed Pro's and Con's on each point. The President then selected the choices after verbal and undocumented discussion with HAK. No one could counter the choices made as it included their own opinions and points. By doing this, the United States of America unilaterally renounced biological warfare, and endeavored to sign an international treaty (the BWC) after ratifying the Geneva Protocol of 1925. These were arms control treaty efforts no one believed possible a decade earlier. [For business professionals, this is the big story on how to overcome large institutional conflicts to set purposeful direction.]

What Was General Westmoreland having valued in the Vietnam War? Why did The American General Westmoreland have directly apologized the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Veterans after Westmoreland cut and run out of Vietnam which is why the United States didn't carry out Article Third of the United States Constitution because the American Ambassador has been signed four multilateral and the thirty-seven bilateral treaties with its close Republic of Vietnam ally? Why has a great powerful America easily swallowed its law and treaties with its Republic of Vietnam ally? Just because, Democratic Party has had a super tyrant permanently to let it rule the United States is to be socialism without having respected its America's Founding Fathers. And the American economy is worse than other great Powerful nations, but it is super belligerent than others. Bright Quang

Primary and Secondary Enemies For today’s article, I will discuss the difference between primary and secondary enemies within politics and international relations using examples from current international relations and the Allies versus the Axis powers during World War II. What constitutes a primary enemy is the enemy that is the most severe threat to that opponent’s nation. During World War II, Germany was the primary enemy of the Allied powers of Great Britain, the Soviet Union/Russia, and the United States. The reason for this was that Germany was a direct threat to the British and the Russians, with the German leadership led by Adolf… https://lnkd.in/eEQxKQs8

Henry Kissinger: 1923 - 2023 It's a fascinating observation of human folly, independent of education or background, how some individuals, utterly disconnected from Mr. Kissinger, offer absurdly uninformed praise for his "human qualities." Such adulation betrays either a profound naivety or an alignment with the values of this metaphorical dinosaur, who bequeathed a legacy of division and control. Those of us steeped in the study of his intellectual tactics in fostering division understand the stark lack of moral substance in his legacy. Kissinger was a maestro of superpower interests, crafting satellite states, hegemonic designs, proxy regimes, and orchestrating geopolitical instability and tensions. This is not a discourse about an innovator or a crusader against poverty. As students and practitioners in political science and economics, who integrate theories into our analyses and strive for bipartisan perspectives to capture the most authentic and realistic view of our evolving world and its potential trajectories, we refrain from simplistic moral judgments on such figures. We understand the moral vacuum in this realm. For everyone else, a piece of advice: silence is an undervalued asset in these discussions. In silence, there is an opportunity to observe and learn, free from the cacophony of uninformed opinions. #geopolitics #internationalaffairs #diplomacy #statesmanship #war #tensions #flashpoints #revolution #henrykissinger #doctrine and much more
