#Data_Contracts These written agreements outline the particulars of what a customer expects from a service provider, as well as what might happen if the service provider doesn’t meet those expectations. The aim? To ensure reliable and high-quality data that can be trusted by all parties involved. It helps prevent downstream data quality issues, prevent data processing pipelines from unexpected outages, enforce ownership of produced data closer to where it was generated, and improve the scalability of your data systems.

When is a byte not a byte? You may think you’re paying observability vendors for the data you ingest - and that’s true… Sort of. The next time you’re on a call with your observability vendor sales rep, ask them: When you say “per GB” - is that compressed over the wire, or as raw text? Where exactly does the metering begin? At ingestion? (Probably not!) Is my data transformed before metering - say, from a string to a JSON object? Or am I charged for every key value pair? (If so, `{message: ‘julian has logged in”}` is 180% the size of `“julian logged in”`, and you’re now paying for `message` to be on every log line!) Does your platform add additional metadata to my ingested telemetry data? Am I charged for it? Do I control that metadata? A single attribute added to every log line is a fast recipe to 🔥 💵 Ask these questions to get clarity around your bill - and make your rep sweat 😉

I2C is powerful because it works upon pullup resistor.

Everything you need to know about the I2C protocol: Subscribe my channel for more. https://lnkd.in/dGdNRGkU 1. Purpose and Basics: - I2C is a synchronous, multi-master, and multi-slave communication protocol for transferring data between integrated circuits or embedded devices on a shared bus. 2. Two-Wire Communication: - I2C uses two wires - SDA for data and SCL for clock synchronization. SDA carries data bits, while SCL provides the clock signal to time data transitions. 3. Master-Slave Architecture: - I2C supports multiple devices connected to the same bus, with one or more masters and one or more slaves. The master initiates communication and controls data flow. 4. 7-Bit and 10-Bit Addresses: - Devices on the I2C bus are identifed by 7-bit or 10-bit addresses, allowing up to 128 (7-bit) or 1024 (10-bit) unique addresses. - 7-bit addressing is more common due to simplicity. 5. Start and Stop Conditions: - Communication begins with a Start condition (S) and ends with a Stop condition (P). - A Start condition signals the beginning of a transaction, while a Stop condition indicates its completion. 6. Data Transfer: - Data is transferred in 8-bit bytes. - Each byte is transmitted with the most significant bit (MSB) first. - Acknowledge bits are sent by the receiver to confirm data receipt. 7. Clock Speeds: - I2C operates at different standard clock speeds, such as 100 kHz (Standard Mode) and 400 kHz (Fast Mode). - High-speed modes like 1 MHz (Fast Mode Plus) and 3.4 MHz (High-Speed Mode) are also available on some devices. 8. Multi-Master Support: - I2C supports multiple masters on the bus, enabling complex systems with arbitration mechanisms for resolving bus conflicts. 9. Register-Based Communication: - Devices connected to the I2C bus often communicate using a register-based approach, where data is read from and written to specific device registers. 10. Arbitration: - In multi-master environments, arbitration resolves conflicts when two or more masters attempt to access the bus simultaneously. - The master that wins arbitration continues, while others back off. 11. Repeated Start Condition: - The repeated start condition (Sr) allows the master to start a new data transfer without releasing control of the bus. 12. Read and Write Operations: - Read and write operations are differentiated by the least significant bit (LSB) of the 7-bit address, with "1" indicating a read and "0" indicating a write operation. 13. Clock Stretching: - I2C allows clock stretching, enabling a slave device to pause the clock if it needs additional time to process data. 14. ACK and NACK: - The receiver sends an ACK bit to acknowledge data reception. - An NACK bit indicates the end of data transmission or an error condition. #i2c #communication #protocols #embeddedsystems #embeddedc #firmware #cpp #engineer #microcontrollers #developmemt #dailulearning
